Givaway Edit

Yeah, the advert on Channel Four totally gives away the fact that Shannon dies. You see a cross, then Sayid holding her body! I was really shocked! Well, I would have been had I not seen them, but horrified for all the people who hadn't! --LostCat 05:14, 1 May 2006 (PDT)

I saw that advert many of times but it was still a shock - Dee4leeds

England? Edit

Channel 4 serves Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales with the same programmes, not just England. Any chance of changing the name of this page to 'Great Britain', 'Britain' 'UK' or something? I realise there's a Welsh page covering S4C's differing programming, but I think it'd be better to address us as a united country and not just England. --Cappsy

Ireland and Wales aren't at the same episodes of England. Plus, England is a country, and such this is a fan country.

The point I'm making is that England is not the only country in the British Isles. At the moment the Wiki only covers England and Wales and I propose these two countreies, as well as Scotland and Northern Ireland, should be brought together in one 'UK' page, addressing the differing schedules as necessary. I'd do it myself but I thought it was worth discussing first. --Cappsy

Ah, much better :) Thank you for indulging me in my pedantry. --Cappsy

I didn't even notice you'd posted this before I moved it to be honest. I just hate the term England to describe the UK. Oh, and Wales has a different broadcast schedule than the rest of the UK so that area is staying for now :-) --Plkrtn 07:44, 4 May 2006 (PDT)
Ah, fair enough. I suppose adding all the Wales details to the UK page might make it a little too long, anyway. Might be worth checking into how Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland differ in the broadcasting of LOST, too. I'll look into it. --Cappsy
Wales does have the same broadcast schedule as the rest of the UK, Channel 4 is the same across the whole of the UK Bean945 05:47, 1 July 2006 (PDT)

About 8 days Edit

Guessing that the Lost finale will be on the 26 september, that will leave the UK viewers 8 (or 9, i dont get the whole time zone thing) days to view the site without the chance of spoilers. I hope channel 4 bring it forword even more so for it'll be and january before we see season 3. --   Dee4leeds  talk  contribs  all  06:55, 3 September 2006 (PDT)

Yes, I shall be leaving the site as soon as Season 3 is aired in the U.S. It is impossible to avoid spoilers! I do hope they bring it forward again though, I have a feeling they may run it as a full 23 block, with the 7th episode in line with USA (the start of their second section of season 3), which would be a mid-Dec(a reasonable gap)start in the UK for the 6 prior episodes, and we would have caught up. But, we don't run clip shows... Although ABC are meant to be scrapping them. --The Smiley-Faced Balloon 14:22, 9 September 2006 (PDT)
Its a kick in the nuts spoilers...I hope its not to far behind the USA --   Dee4leeds  talk  contribs  all  14:25, 9 September 2006 (PDT)
Looks like an 07 release... --The Smiley-Faced Balloon 10:49, 2 October 2006 (PDT)
Without a doubt its a 07 release, but we as yet don't know exactly when. I'm hearing, and pretty much expecting that we'll only be at worst, 2 or 3 weeks behind the US, from episode 7 onwards, that is. -- Plkrtn  talk  contribs  email  10:53, 2 October 2006 (PDT)
It looks more likely than ever that January 2007 will be the launch of Season 3 in the UK, but I am waiting on Head of Sky 1, 2 and 3 to get back to me with confirmation. -- Plkrtn  talk  contribs  email  08:45, 19 October 2006 (PDT)
According to Sky One's website, it will begin airing in November! I doubt, however, that there will be one episode a week like Channel 4. LJB4815162342 08:02, 20 October 2006 (PDT)

Promotion Edit

"Most recently, the Season 2 finale of Lost was advertised by Channel 4. Again, they included extremely spoileriffic images, particularly of Desmond, the pala ferry scene, and the discharge event. Feedback is yet to be given but it would seem that more complaints may follow as with The 23rd Psalm."
All the complaining appeared to be from people who had already seen it not from first time viewers, same with 23 psalm. --   Dee4leeds  talk  contribs  all  08:04, 4 October 2006 (PDT)

Sky One gain the rights Edit

Sky have got the rights to the show. I have contacted Richard Woolfe, head of Sky 1, 2 and 3 in order to get some clarification in regards to broadcast rights (which platforms? online, mobile phone etc) and to see if he can confirm a broadcast date (well month, as an exact day is a little bit much to ask for just yet!) for the show. -- Plkrtn  talk  contribs  email  08:44, 19 October 2006 (PDT)

I've added the information Sky have provided me about the new season's airing dates. -- Plkrtn  talk  contribs  email  11:41, 19 October 2006 (PDT)
They say anything about Sky Two? Weird how its being left out. --   Dee4leeds  talk  contribs  all  11:42, 19 October 2006 (PDT)
They're going to lose a lot of viewers only showing Lost on a pay-to-view channel, not every Lost viewer has Sky.
I think they will gain much more. The lack on viewers on Channel 4 was becuase it was so far behind that the UK just downloaded or read about it. So now they can get it early the downloaders and more will be watching. --   Dee4leeds  talk  contribs  all  05:17, 18 November 2006 (PST)

Two Seperate pages Edit

I was thinking that maybe there should be two seperate pages for the work Channel 4 did and what Sky one will be doing in the future --Lostkodes 11:57, 25 October 2006 (PDT)

Promotion Edit

I think that Sky one are being a bit risky with some of the things they have on their site. For instance, the picture of Juliet is shown with the survivors, all though we do not know at this point who she is. And I'd also like to point out that it says on the website "65 days ago, they fell from the sky" and in a series of pictures that flashes up, Juliet's face appears too. Lets hope they don't go down the road of channel and their spoiler filled advertisements--DrGiggles

At the bottom of the page it says Benjamin Linus... That's more of a spoiler, I think. But someone who sees the opening scene won't be so shocked when the revelation of Otherville appears. Jontyrm

Series 3 Episode 7+ Edit

Hey does anybody have any idea when the second part of Series 3 will begin in the UK? As it starts on the 7th in the US, i heard somewhere that the UK will get it withen a week of US airing, if true, and if sky one continue broadcasting on Sundays it will be on February 11th.

Is there any confirmation or anything? --lewisg 05:42, 7 December 2006 (PST)

Well from what I heard, the plan was to be 5 days behind America from Episode 7 onwards. As ABC have just moved Lost to Wednesdays from Tuesdays, I'd assume that they'll now be only 4 days behind - but this might be unrealistic. So really I think it'll either be a 4 day gap beginning February 11th, or they might put it back a week meaning its the 18th and a future 11 day gap between episodes. We'll just have to wait and see. --Nickb123 (Talk) 06:11, 7 December 2006 (PST)
Fingers crossed.. Id rather watch it in HD and still be able to use lostpedia for a couple of days a week, than either wait a week and not have lostpedia or watching some rubbish version over the net hehe --lewisg 03:02, 9 December 2006 (PST)
Any more recent news on airdates? The main page says 11th has it been confirmed? --lewisg 15:10, 18 December 2006 (PST)
Its what we've heard. Definitely February, and currently scheduled to be the 11th, allowing them to double bill 24 and Lost every Sunday. Its still subject to change though -- Plkrtn  talk  contribs  email  15:12, 18 December 2006 (PST)

Sky Three.. Edit

As far as I'm aware, Sky haven't confirmed Lost will go to Sky Three. In fact, many people who post at Digital Spy [1] who have emailed Sky, have had emails back saying there were no plans to show Lost on Sky Three... [2] Mikay 12:58, 2 January 2007 (PST)

Seems Lost wont be on terrestrial tv at all. Sky three is being removed from freeview! --   Dee4leeds  talk  contribs  all  03:59, 10 February 2007 (PST)
The email I recieved from the office of the controller of Sky One suggested that Lost would be under the same 6 - 12 month window to Sky Three as standard.

Sky removing those three channels would mean Sky One would likely to be one of the four pay channels, I'm guessing at a small extra fee. Still, it requires OFCOM to approve the move. -- Plkrtn  talk  contribs  email  09:13, 10 February 2007 (PST)

CatEdit

  • Nice country page you guys have here. I created Category:British productions for any official TV or internet articles that are produced in the UK, as opposed to the states. Feel free to use, I tagged the "see other" stuff, don't know if there are additional items. --PandoraX 12:45, 4 January 2007 (PST)

Rewrite?Edit

DVD Edit

Acording the Amazon.co.uk the complete Lost season 3 box set will be released two months before the US release. So the UK could get it from October 22, and the US will have to wait under two months till the December release.[3] -- Dan  talk  contribs  email  06:21, 23 June 2007 (PDT)

Season 4 Edit

I have not heard anything about Season 4 returning in Winter 08. The reference on the article doesn't tell us of any airdate. This common looks unsupported and should be removed? --The Smiley-Faced Balloon 12:31, 24 June 2007 (PDT)

On the Sky One Website, a few weeks ago after the intro it said 'Lost returns to Sky One WInter 2008'. But now the site has changed and the intro is now a video.-- Dan  talk  contribs  email  12:16, 26 June 2007 (PDT)
That's disappointing. Hopefully it's no longer true but I doubt. Thanks. --The Smiley-Faced Balloon 14:37, 28 June 2007 (PDT)
Sky One's Lost website has changed a bit and it once again says that Lost will return Winter 2008. I'm certainly not waiting that long![4]-- Dan  talk  contribs  email  05:49, 8 August 2007 (PDT)
I'm sure that by "Winter 2008", they mean February 2008, not December. Bohrok Awakener 04:33, 4 November 2007 (PST)

Seperate pages Edit

I would like to revive a discussion started before about the need for seperate pages started by Lostkodes, which never continued. I think it's worth having a page for Sky One, and Channel 4 at the same time as this United Kingdom article. What does everyone else think?-- Dan  talk  contribs  email  12:35, 21 August 2007 (PDT)

I prefer the all-in-one approach personally, as I don't think things should be overcomplicated. --Nickb123 (Talk) 14:44, 2 September 2007 (PDT)
