Talk:Time

From Lostpedia

Article's looking pretty good now. I hope no one gets carried away and starts adding any quote with the word "time" in it (like "Next time, you won't be so lucky" or just colloquial phrases). Please prune as needed! --PandoraX 08:48, 8 February 2007 (PST)

  • I agree; pretty much every single transcript has the word time, but most are irrelevant to the theme. I love the Producers Commentary btw, that is perfect.-- Dagg talk contribs4 8 08:53, 8 February 2007 (PST)

You made this page just in time, Dagg. Look how the references are piling up! --PandoraX 22:19, 14 February 2007 (PST)

FIND 815

IF the ARG find 815 is in the present, it must have some significance to the speed time occurs at on the island. For instance, on the 18th December 2004 on the island, Naomi revealed that the plane was found and everyone on board was dead. However, as of the 5th January 2007, the ARG states that the search for flight 815 has been abandoned, showing that they are infact still looking. This DOES NOT take into account that naomi may have been lying. Any thoughts ? DrGiggles 09:36, 5 January 2008 (PST)

  • In light of the events in 'The Economist', in which Daniel's stopwatch is offset 31 minutes to the one launched from the ship, I think stating that time passes differently on the Island is a fair assumption. How much differently and in what manner remains to be seen. --Thenumbersdude 17:08, 19 February 2008 (PST)
We still don't know that time passes differently. We know what Daniel observed in the experiment which is related to travel to the Island and nothing more. Dharmatel4 17:15, 19 February 2008 (PST)
Agree. We only know that at the point in time when Daniel's experiment concluded there was a time differential of 31 minutes and 18 seconds between island time and the outside world. No more, no less. This may be a constant and fixed difference. Only if Daniel repeated the experiment, say on the following day, and found the time difference had increased proportionally to the time he has spent on the island can we be sure that time is indeed 'lost' on the island. I think what is being forgotten in the theories about the 'different passage of time on the island' is that the island does not exist in isolation. If time passed differently on the island it would need its own sun and moon and atmosphere and weather etc. as otherwise it would be out of phase with day-night patterns etc. in the 'outside world' (actually, the tidal patterns would be interesting in this regard...). I think that the electromagnetic properties of the island produce some sort of field around it which renders the island invisible and interferes with any matter (not communication signals) approaching it, making it such a 'rough ride' to get there, except on the 325 degree corridor. The interference must be some kind of time/space warp as the payload took half an hour to get to the island without the clock on the payload indicating this passage of time (unless Regina cheated and send it half an hour late, but I doubt that). Kronos and Khronos

Kronos/Cronos and Khronos/Chronos are NOT the same deity, and Kronos has nothing to do with time. Before I edit, though, I need confirmation for the spelling used in the original episode. Tsunomaru 00:13, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
