Challenge a Descriptive Edit

Act 2 descriptive says [Danielle gets her rifle ready. The sky lights up and the noise of a time flash begins - which Jin has not seen before.]
re: time flash and "which Jin has not seen before." My bet is that he has seen one before - the one that took him back to 1988. The one with Danielle is the first time flash that WE have seen him experience. Now you could quibble that he was unconscious on the wreckage floating in the water and he "slept" thru his first time flash - but you don't know he wasn't awake during his time flash. –DocH– my edits

A transcript should only contain descriptions of information as presented on the show--visually and through dialogue--and shouldn't add any interpretations, insights, opinions, assumptions, theories, etc. (Probably the only exception to this that I can see would be to add a name of a character known definitively from sources outside of the show itself in the dialogue-speaker identifiers, but only to clarify a speaker amongst several (rather than using "MAN:" or "WOMAN:" etc.) and only when doing so does not "give away" a twist/surprise/reveal.) Think of a transcript as announcing a sports game play-by-play, as descriptively and accurately as possible, without any color commentary. With that standard in mind, it seems like this should just be removed. Robert K S (talk) 18:02, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

- I write better transcripts & descriptives for Fringe. Agreed on all points... "which Jin has not seen before" is completely interpretive - while "which Jin may have seen before" is presumptive. All we know is that Jin has encountered, knowingly or otherwise, at least on time jump prior to this point in the transcript - the one that placed him back in the waters around the French science team. –DocH– my edits 01:52, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
