Talk:Theresa Spencer

Could this be the same Theresa who was Boone's housekeeper?TemporalDisplacement 04:56, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

  • I thought the same thing, the writers wouldn't just happen to name another character with the same name. And a few things seem to fit together for this to be just coincidence. I posted this as an unanswered question on her page, but it was deleted by another user. I think it should be given further consideration, Goatboy496 06:59, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Theresa's past and ties to Daniel FaradayEdit

Abigail's conversation with Desmond is the wierdest thing I've heard this episode:

“I seriously don’t know what we would have done if it hadn’t been for Mr Widmore. Daniel’s benefactor. He funded his research. And he took respondibitly for the result of it. He’s been taking care of Theresa ever since this happened to her. Everythign here is due to Mr. Widmore - God bless him.”::

She's saying, in effect, that Widmore funded Dan's research. Then they had him test it on Theresa, knowing that they were taking a big risk. And when it caused her to apparently get unstuck in time, he (Widmore) took care of her. And yet Abigail hates Dan but has only blessings for Widmore?? That is really weird. It suggests there's a lot more to this story than is on the surface.

  • Why is Abigail ok with Widmore and the research?
  • Why did they (apparently) involve Theresa in the research?
  • How come Daniel 'went runnin' off to the States"? - was this statement referring to his joining the freighter crew, or to something prior?
  • Everything here is due to Mr. Widmore - I think this statement refers to the state Theresa is in, not simply to the care she's receiving. It is due to Mr. Widmore that she's unstuck in time.
    • Abigail only berates Dan for leaving her, not for doing the research or for causing her illness.
  • She may be the person that Daniel refers to when he tells Ellie she looks so much like someone he used to know.

A lot of this makes more sense if she was Boone's (paralyzed) Nanny and they were trying to send her back in time to prevent the paralysis by avoiding falling down the stairs.--NotAnOther 13:16, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

PunEdit

"...she was chronically affected"? Lol nice. On a more serious note, do we really know for sure that she is consciousness-jumping? Maybe she has some other problem. AJFool 17:58, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

  • It's highly likely that she is consciousness-jumping, given that she seems catatonic when "away", like Desmond, and when she comes back she thinks she's in another time.--NotAnOther 13:16, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
