Confirmed Dead
The news showed us that the wreckage was found quite far from the coordinates we get in the game. I'm beginning to suspect, that the game is incorrect in many ways and may not closely reflect the events in the show Malachi 02:26, 9 February 2008 (PST)why did they even search in the trench
If you look at a map and chart sydney to los angeles, it goes nowhere CLOSE to the sunda trench. Why would rescuers even start searching there. It'd be like searching for the lockerbie wreck in france. there is a hole in the plotline that i would like to see addressed by the writers
- Who said rescuers were going to search it? All Sam got were the words Sunda Trench. and the name of a boat that happened to be nearby and schedualed to go on a confidential expodition. I don't think he's 100% sure what's going on there. But he thinks it'll at least lead him in the right direction. --Gluphokquen Gunih ▲ 23:26, 3 January 2008 (PST)

Comment
Maybe it's just a casual fact, but Edgar Allan Poe "MS. Found in a bottle" happens near Sunda trench.
