When Michael is in at Brian Porter's house and the nanny gives him the box of undelivered letters, the room he's in is octagonal with huge Dharma logo-shaped woodwork on the ceiling. He is standing directly under the center of the Dharma logo. The next room, where he meets Walt, is also an octagonal room. Any thoughts on this? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Beardy (talkcontribs), 10:56, 30 November 2006 (UTC).

I believe you'll find that this has been noted under Dharmacakra (Pandora noticed it a while back). Also, I've put a reference under the trivia section to highlight it --Nickb123 (Talk) 03:29, 30 November 2006 (PST)

Concerning the CHITTER CHITTER CHITTER sound (monster sound?) in the recent episode Exposé, you know, the one that people are attributing to either the monster or the spiders or whatnot, the one that's in the scene where the spiders are coming to paralyze Nikki? Well, I've been watching the old Season One episodes of LOST and I've gotten up through "Special"... Now, initially I thought that that was a "Monster sound" too; we've heard it with the Monster before... I thought... but around 13 minutes into the episode Special (DVD time), from 12:58 to 13:03, to be precise, when there's a flashback to Michael talking on the phone with Susan, the sound is there, accompanying the regular "flashback" WHUMP sound. Odd... maybe it is just dramatic music. --Kbmusiclover 11:42, 31 March 2007 (PDT)

Flashbacks making not much sense...[]

  • Walt lives with his mother Susan and her boyfriend Brian Porter in Australia.
  • Suddenly Susan dies.
  • Brian takes the next flight to New York, leaving Walt and the paperwork for Susan's funeral behind.
  • Apparently Michael has no telephone, because Brian suddenly knocks on Michael's door without any advance calling.
  • Brian gives Michael a two-way ticket to Australia and back.
  • Michael appears to be travelling alone, because Porter isn't with him when Michael arrives at his home in Australia.
  • Michael apparently doesn't participate in any funeral for Susan, because he's heading straight for Walt.
  • Walt is attending school despite his mom just having died.
  • Walt also doesn't appear to be particularly upset considering his mum just died a week ago.
  • Porter isn't seen anywhere when Michael is at his house.
  • Brian apparently hasn't informed Walt about his biological father coming to Australia yet.
  • Michael appears to be intent to take Walt and then immediately head back to the USA, rather than staying at Brian's place for a while. Why the hurry?
  • Brian wants Michael to take Walt home with him. Apparently Walt can just drop out of school any day.
  • If Walt is an Australian citizen, you'd think there would be some immigration issues to work out first.
  • Walt also doesn't appear to have any personal belongings other then Vincent (who actually belongs to Brian).
  • Also, the question remains why Brian didn't just take Walt with him when he first came to New York, instead of having Michael do this long trip.

Any thoughts?--Nevermore 15:35, 1 May 2007 (PDT)

Great points... Personally it's been my feeling that Michael and Walt were poorly written all along and their characters don't have much depth. Your observations may illustrate that lack of effort on the part of the writers to make these characters as believable as some of the other ones on the show. It would be nice to find out more about Brian in another flashback or something... perhaps he knew 815 was headed to the island? Congested 08:48, 2 May 2007 (PDT)

Brian wants to get rid of Walt immediately and he doesn't want to have to face him when he does so. Thats why he went by himself and also why he left straight away. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sciencegod (talkcontribs) .

Polar bear speaking italian[]

Around 32min of the episode, the first time we see the polar bear assaulting walt, the bear growls and roars. It can be heard it growling "ESCI!": that is the italian word for "come out!". it's in both original version and italian one. I'd add it to the 'trivia' section.--Pippo jedi 01:22, 18 June 2007 (PDT)pippo_jedi

girl[]

is it me or does Michael look like a girl in the first flashback scene when shopping for cribs?--Connor401 11:32, 19 August 2007 (PDT)

Prophesy of Locke[]

This episode revealed two things to me. One that Locke really is the answer to the island. Charlie says he would trust him and Boone says how important he is to the island. That it ties into Walt is no surprise at all.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sciencegod (talkcontribs) .

Woman in background?[]

I haven't seen any mention of the woman that is visible in the background at about 27:20... blooper? --Zomg 15:58, 13 June 2008 (PDT)

  • So uh I know these posts are from 13 years ago as I'm writing this, but this "blooper" is still on the wiki page. I'm pretty sure that is indeed supposed to be Dagne, and it's not some film crew member. She's not just standing there - it looks like she's tending to the plant, like a housekeeper might do. The fact that she's not in the following shot could just mean she walked away so as to not intrude upon the family once she noticed what was happening. That, or getting away from Walt because he was being annoying. ;) Jasper Kazai (talk) 15:54, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
    • I agree. While it could be a blooper, it is also very possible that it is Dagne, so since that possibility exists, it doesn't belong in the bloopers. I've removed that entry. Thanks for the heads-up! Shambala108 (talk) 23:25, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

Not a blooper?[]

The plane tickets that Brian gave to Michael to retrieve Walt with were for a flight from Sydney to New York.

I took Brian's statement as a reassurance that the tickets he's giving Michael are for the whole trip from Sydney to New York; perhaps even more for the audience than Michael himself. He said, "there's two tickets, one two-way [New York to Sydney, Sydney to New York] and the other one-way, Sydney to New York." I would imagine it's normal for someone flying Sydney to New York to have a stopover in LA or another airport on the west coast. Can anyone verify this? --Cobblepot 06:01, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

  • I was about to say the same thing. I don't think I have ever heard of a direct flight from Sydney to New York. A stop in L.A. would make sense; considering the writers were trying hard to get everyone to go from Sydney to L.A., I don't see this as a mistake. --Robbie 23:31, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
  • That is correct. I used to live in Sydney. There are no direct, non-stop flights from Sydney to New York. It's too far for planes to fly without refuelling. All flights are ticketed as Sydney to New York, but they stop in Los Angeles for a couple of hours before continuing on. Edwardaggie98 02:21, October 8, 2009 (UTC)

Day 26-27?[]

The page said "Special" is covering the events of day 26-27, but the script of "Maternity Leave" has day 28 as the day Claire got out from the Staff and rescued by Rousseau. So where is day 27 come from? Sroczynski (talk) 12:56, September 5, 2020 (UTC)
