SkateEdit

  • Interesting. At first I was skeptical but the addition of the timeline really makes it an article. -- Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯  Talk  23:18, 4 February 2008 (PST)
  • Which episode was it when Sawyer says to (someone I can't remember) "Where's Kate? I love her."? I think it's sometime in Season 2, after he's been shot. Froglars 17:19, 1 March 2008 (PST)

Reverted edits Edit

I've reverted a load of edits made in the last few days. This article was held as a good example to the corresponding Jack and Kate article, but was then edited by a "shipper" and made into an article that had more fan-cruft and conjecture than the original. If I see any more edits of this kind, I'll simply lock the article down.  Plkrtn  talk  contribs  email  04:58, 29 March 2008 (PDT)

Prose Edit

Can we get some prose on this page please? It's just lists and lists and lists. Also worth noting that the idea of filling articles with quotes has been rejected (see the talk page too).--TechNic|talk|conts 21:53, 30 March 2008 (PDT)

DeletionsEdit

Cut to minimize listyness of page, as mentioned above by Tech. Clover 22:52, 2 April 2008 (PDT)

ThemesEdit

Stay or go backEdit

Kate and Sawyer have repeatedly discussed their quality of life on versus off the Island. Is there something to stay for, or what to go back for...

KATE: I get it now. You don't want off this island because there's nothing for you to go back for. Nobody you miss. And no one misses you. ("The Moth")

KATE: Why is it so important for you to be on that raft? SAWYER: Cuz there ain't anything on this island worth staying for. ("Born to Run")

KATE: We have to go back. ("Stranger in a Strange Land")

SAWYER: It means, Kate, there's always someone to go back for. ("Through the Looking Glass, Part 1")

SAWYER: (continues) I ain't lookin to leave. KATE: Why not? SAWYER: (considers) Cause, I ain't got nothin' back there for me. KATE: (flabbergasted) What's here that's so much better? SAWYER: Why do you want to go back, Kate? Seem to recall you being shuttled off to jail before we landed here. So if you think there's anything waiting for you back home other than handcuffs, you really don't know how the world works. ("The Economist")

Houses and homesEdit

Sawyer and Kate have repeatedly discussed living arrangements and called either the camp, their tents, the houses at the Barracks or the Island "home."

SAWYER: Heard the doctor was vacating the premises. Thought I'd best lay claims to my new digs before somebody else did [he drops his suitcases]. I could fix this place up real good. Might even find somebody to share it with me [looking at Kate]. ("The Moth")

SAWYER: How about that? [They see land] The current brought us back. We're home. ("Adrift")

KATE: Hey! Hey, can you hear me? You're going to be okay. You're going to be alright. You're home. ("Collision")

SAWYER: Home sweet home. KATE: Yeah. ("What Kate Did")

SAWYER: Well, well, now look who had to relocate to the suburbs. [Charlie doesn't respond.] Ain't that just like a woman? She keeps the house and you get the cheap-ass apartment. ("The Long Con")

KATE: I like what you've done with the place. ("The Long Con")

SAWYER: [Sigh] We ain't on our island. We're on another island, like Alcatraz, couple miles off shore. ("I Do")

SAWYER: Are we there yet? KATE: If we are where I think we are then our beach should be just through those trees. We'll be home in about five minutes. ("Tricia Tanaka Is Dead")

KATE: So that's how it's going to be? Welcome home, Sawyer. [She walks off.] SAWYER: Welcome home, Kate. ("Tricia Tanaka Is Dead")

SAWYER: Hey Freckles, you home? ("Catch-22")

SAWYER: You want me to walk you home? KATE: It's five tents, I think I'll make it. ("The Brig")

KATE: Yeah, how long, Sawyer? How long can do you think we can play house? SAWYER: (lowers voice) Why don’t we find out? (lowers his head earnestly) ("The Economist")

SAWYER: By the way, I found some clothes about your size, in the closet. So after I kick out Hugo... KATE: I'm not moving in with you, James. ("Eggtown")

SAWYER: This is about the pregnancy. KATE: James? SAWYER: Yeah. KATE: Go home. ("Eggtown")

SAWYER: What, he banished you? Well, I unbanish you. You can stay right here. [Kate giggles as Sawyer takes off her shoes.] This is my house. ("Eggtown")

Why not 'Sate'? Edit

Why is this named 'Skate' instead of 'Sate'? I mean -- people don't use nickname 'Jkate' for Jack & Kate. This naming system seems to be illogical. -Frozenball 15:15, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

  • There isn't a naming system LP just uses names that are used the most by fans, and frankly Jate sounds better than Jkate and Skate is better than Sate. --Orhan94 18:54, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

RenameEdit

Good content here. Why stick it under this silly fanon heading? We could instead list the shipper nicknames under a heading and redirect the names here. --- Balk Of Fametalk 06:33, August 16, 2010 (UTC)

  • No The shipper nicknames are well known and have a clear meaning. ``Sawyer & Kate`` is just vague. Using something as ``Sawyer & Kate's relationship`` is unnecessarly long... I say we should keep the current name. --LeoChris 18:05, August 16, 2010 (UTC)
