In the rerun of the shark episode, the logo is blacked out. Perhaps the producers changed their mind about pursuing this avenue.

is it seen on the dvd verison? --Thommy3 01:02, 8 May 2006 (PDT)
Season 2 DVD isn't out yet... though that will be the "tell" won't it... If it is in the DVD I'd call it canon... Otherwise it belongs in Continuity errors or something along those lines.--Isotope23 10:45, 18 May 2006 (PDT)
It's on the Season 2 DVD. Jeremiahsmith 17:14, 9 September 2006 (PDT)
It was definitely on the UK premiere of this episode last week --Plkrtn 01:09, 8 May 2006 (PDT)

was it in every rerun on it? --Cool Man 0912 17:27, 22 June 2006 (PDT)

Last I heard, the DHARMA logo was not supposed to be there and was removed from both re-airings and the DVD. I am unable to find any proof for this, but I believe it was a mistake. I guess if someone has the Season 2 box, then they can confirm it. --Eleo 15:51, 23 August 2006 (PDT)
According to one of the special features in the Season 2 DVD set, the Dharma symbol on the shark was an 'easter egg' they put on the shark model and they didn't expect it to actually show up in the shot. BladeHamilton 15:25, 27 September 2006 (PDT)
That's not exactly what they said. They said they didn't expect it to be so easy to see based on lighting, they knew it would be there but just barely visible. --Minderbinder 15:40, 27 September 2006 (PDT)
It is still on the shark but they made it more diffcult to see.--CaptainInsano 15:56, 27 September 2006 (PDT)

reference request[]

  • could someone add a reference for the article's statement that: "The producers however have said that the logo on the shark was not sanctioned."

Thanks =) Santa 02:14, 15 May 2006 (PDT)

I don't know Santa, if this [DJ Dan] thing turns out legitimate, there's a pic of the shark with it's nifty tattoo back in place! On the other hand, there's a picture of a 2-toed giant sloth too... --Beardog4314 15:37, 16 May 2006 (PDT)

pretty sure that it's an official site, however that shark picture looks pretty poorly photoshopped, could just eb a little in house joke - Mikey 10:54, 18 May 2006 (PDT)

I uploaded an image of the logo on the shark on DJ Dan's website, for reference purposes, but not sure how to link to this page? --NewLostie 12:10, 20 May 2006 (PDT)

  • To me it looks that logo is photoshopped. Chingon 06:02, 28 May 2006 (PDT)
  • Just wanted to observe that in Stephen King's The Dark Tower (seeing as how the author has been referenced on the show, and there may be an ABC connection), there are semi-robotic animals that act as guardians for locations in the story. wodani

water bottle[]

Hey I dont think that water bottle is that logo I think It says dharma on it.

I removed the mentioning of Juliet's bottle. It's clearly letters on that logo, not a a line. --Jambalaya 08:51, 7 October 2006 (PDT)

Added note: the same logo(with what appears to be the word "Dharma" on it instead of a blank line) is shown near the beginning of the Orchid orientation film on a card flashed in front of the camera.--OraNoS 21:16, 21 April 2008 (PDT)

Jumping the Shark[]

I think that when they do revisit the shark, they will have it intentionally in an episode where they are Jumping the Shark. Like when characters start to come back to life, we'll find out what the shark was for.--NotARedHerring 16:28, 11 October 2006 (PDT)

Rename to just "Shark"[]

'Rename Seems like a good idea considering all the other animal pages don't have "the". --Minderbinder 14:30, 25 October 2006 (PDT)

Ezra James Sharkington[]

Can we reverse all mentioning of that stupid joke? --Hunter61 00:44, 12 May 2007 (PDT)

I think it should be mentioned in reference to the joke made on the offical podcast, so that it is not taken seriously. --Drmanhattan 15:12, 12 May 2007 (PDT)

Charlie[]

Why weren't the sharks a threat to Charlie and Desmond when they swam down to the Looking Glass?

  • because niether of them were bleeding so the shark would not be attrackted to it. unless it was a robitic one in which case "who knows"
Sharks don't generally attack humans, so the fact that there are sharks in the water doesn't mean that the moment someone swims in it they will be attacked. The Raft crew was attacked mainly because, as mentioned above, Sawyer was bleeding. --Sauron18 09:39, 18 June 2007 (PDT)

Rename - Sharks[]

The manual of style says that "When an object or theme occurs once, leave the article in the singular form", however, sharks have now been mentioned in multiple ways, and, for example, you can't selectively breed sharks without multiple sharks. As such I propose that the article is renamed from "Shark" to "Sharks". <hiero>O34:O4-G17-D58-A1</hiero> zholmboe 20:22, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Suggestion seems in line with policy.  Robert K S   tell me  20:54, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Agree, rename. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 23:58, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for doing all the footwork there, CTS. Looks great. <hiero>O34:O4-G17-D58-A1</hiero> zholmboe 02:28, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Shark Logo in Psychology video[]

Check out still 43 and 84.

OrientationTrainingIssuesVideo

Of course there's no way of confirming any connection with still 43, it's just a line. Is this worth mentioning in the article? QCIC 21:46, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Shark Logo in (LA X, Parts 1 & 2)[]

From the screen capture and video it appears to me that there are three sharks seen in the show thus far. One form the raft and two from (LA X, Parts 1 & 2). Shouldn't the line "Whether this shark is intended to be the same shark as in the original timeline is unknown." be removed from the DHARMA Initiative logo (shark section)?
