- Agree. I don't know why but "The Race" just makes me think of car races... I propose "Sailing Race", simple and to the point.--EvilSmoke 17:05, 20 November 2006 (PST)
- Agree. I'd go for "Around the World Yacht Race" and make Sailing Race, The Race, Race, Around the World Race... etc redirect here -- Plkrtn talk contribs email 17:11, 20 November 2006 (PST)
- Agree. I think "Sailing Race" would work fine.
- Agree and vote for Sailing Race too -- 17:52, 20 November 2006 (PST)
- Agree --Marik7772003 18:05, 20 November 2006 (PST)
- Agree Sailing race for caps, or even better, Desmond's sailing race.--LOCI!
- Agree: What about Desmond's race? -- Liz
- Agree i suggest: Widmore's Race, Solo Race (around the world)
- Agree on Around-the-World Race. --SilvaStorm
- Agree with Plktrn. -- Lost Soul talk contribs 07:21, 9 December 2006 (PST)
- Agree how about Widmore's Race around the world. Anything but the current title, it just doesn't fit for me. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by <Mr.Leaf> (talk • contribs) .
- Disagree and Agree - How sure are we that The Race is just a boat race? Remember Desmond was training for the race by running and the race is a round the world race, if its been proven somewhere that its just a boat race then i agree :D (im sure it has been proven i just cant recall) --lewisg 15:29, 9 December 2006 (PST)
- Decision: Looks like we have a pretty clear consensus here. I personally could go for either "Sailing race" or "Widmore race" (for simplicity's sake, short titles are better), but we need to make a change from "The", I think. --PandoraX 09:45, 10 December 2006 (PST)
Where did the race begin?
Edit
I would assume, based on the quote using the Solent, it was from Southampton, UK or Cowes, Isle of Wight, UK? -- Plkrtn talk contribs email 17:14, 20 November 2006 (PST)
- Well, that could've been a point somewhere in the course of the race. I always thought that he went to train in L.A. because that's where the race was going to start. And it looks like somebody has found that that quote is from an actual race, so I would attribute that to the prop department being lazy and not writing their own blurb. ;) -- Graft talk contributions 20:52, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
When was the race?
Edit
Desmond hears of the job when he goes for a job interview, he then ends up joining the army, fails to follow orders, gets sent to military prison then has a further 8 months to prepare for the race. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by CarlieG (talk • contribs) .
- Desmond was in the Swan for three years, so he crashed on the Island in late 2001. -- Graft talk contributions 20:43, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
