Possibly Identity[]

Roxanne may be one of these four women, who were seen residing on the beach, while other two female survivors were kept in the makeshift sickbay at the Hydra station.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mistertrouble189 (talkcontribs) .

Roxana Castillo?[]

I just found this, and who is Roxana Castillo? Is there any connection with Roxanne?--User:YK 14:55, 22 Novermber 2009 (UTC)Roxana

  • Interesting, where did you find it? Without a source it's impossible to comment on --LOST-Hunter61 07:18, November 22, 2009 (UTC)

--User:YK 15:49, 22 Novermber 2009 (UTC)

  • There's a Roxana Castillo at imdb [1] --LOST-Hunter61 08:27, November 22, 2009 (UTC)
  • I don't think she has any relation with lost.--User:YK 16:29, 22 Novermber 2009 (UTC)
  • I agree it's Roxanne Castillo.--Station7 16:15, November 22, 2009 (UTC)
    • If we change the name, stick to the exact name on the ticket --LOST-Hunter61 14:14, November 23, 2009 (UTC)
  • That's an awesome find! It's at LEAST trivia if nothing more.--Mistertrouble189 20:41, November 22, 2009 (UTC)
  • Roxanne is a different name than Roxana. We shouldn't change it, but the ticket should still be in the trivia section. --Crash815 Talk 15:27, November 23, 2009 (UTC)
  • I think it's interesting that none of the "travel documents" in the auction showed a date for the flight. What is the provenance of these things? Until we know, the page should remain "Roxanne."--Jim in Georgia Contribs Talk 20:00, December 30, 2009 (UTC)
  • Yeah, we definitely shouldn't change the name. It's obviously not the same person. The name "Roxanne", which has been seen in the enhanced subtitles, is not the same as "Roxana"...obviously. --SethFlight815 20:57, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

Rename to Roxana Castillo again[]

  • I think Roxana and Roxanne are the same name. Just check Wikipedia, it said Roxane is an alternative spelling for the female given name Roxanne. That means Roxane = Roxanne. And then on the Roxana's page, it said Roxana is sometimes being called Roxane. That means Roxana = Roxane = Roxanne. So we definitely need to rename this page to Roxana Castillo. Since Roxana just an alternative spelling, and this case was similar to Zack and Zach's case. If Roxana and Roxanne are the same name, I don't see why we have to doubt to rename. Sroczynski 05:22, October 15, 2011 (UTC)
    • Sounds great :) --Station7 10:27, October 15, 2011 (UTC)
    • Yes, she's obviously the same character, because the odds of there being two separate people on the Ajira flight with the similar names of "Roxanne" and "Roxanna" are slim to none. What probably happened was that Ilana, being a foreigner, mispronounced Roxanna's actual name and sloppily referred to her in passing as "Roxanne." It's obviously the same character, although still an unseen one. Get A Klugh 15:02, October 15, 2011 (UTC)
    • Yes So, I agree to rename. But about who was Roxana Castillo, I think we should go and check which woman was seen with a plane ticket on Flight 316 or on the island. Sroczynski 15:43, October 15, 2011 (UTC)
I don't object to the rename, however I will leave this open for a little while longer in case there are any objections.--Baker1000 23:44, October 15, 2011 (UTC)
  • Neutral I don't really object to the rename, but I still feel it should be explained in the article that some fanon logic was used to reach that conclusion. For all we know, the (NEVER SEEN ONSCREEN) prop misspelled Roxanne... still just to play the devil's advocate, it's entirely possible for two people to have the same name: See Richard (survivor) and Richard Alpert for example... they weren't on the same plane, but they both lived on the island at the same time for a while... --LeoChris 00:50, October 16, 2011 (UTC)
    • I know there are two different Richard on the Island, but Roxana Castillo and Roxanne are definitely the same person. As the Lost Auction had mentioned that Roxana Castillo's plane ticket was seen in The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham, but I don't think her ticket was seen in that episode. I believed that Roxana Castillo was actually Roxanne, because Roxanne was being mentioned in that episode, so the Lost Auction actually wanted to tell us that Roxana Castillo was Roxanne who being mentioned in The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham, and not telling us that her plane ticket was seen in that episode. Sroczynski 07:54, October 16, 2011 (UTC)
      • And to add to that: "Richard" is a much more common first name than "Roxanne" or "Roxanna" is. Additionally, there were several hundred people residing on the island (through either recruitment or plane crashes), whereas the Ajira flight by itself had only a few dozen people (remember all the empty seats that Hurley bought out?). Therefore, it's highly unlikely that there were two different women on the Ajira flight with the names of "Roxanne" and "Roxanna." Get A Klugh 16:38, October 16, 2011 (UTC)
        • Excellent point. I had forgotten just how many passengers were on the plane, probably because the only Ajira extra that ever got famous with the fandom was Bethany James Leigh Shady rather than... half of them... for 815. --LeoChris 17:38, October 16, 2011 (UTC)
          • I just found a blog that made by Bethany James Leigh Shady, and she had held a contest that create the flashback of her character on Lost. She didn't explain anything, and just called her character Roxanne straightly. So, I believe she had confirmed Roxana Castillo was indeed her character's name. Anyone support me? Sroczynski 19:52, October 21, 2011 (UTC)
            • Was the contest done solely by Beth just for fun, or was there any mention by the producers, creative team, production team, or ABC that might possibly link Beth's background character to "Roxanne"? If not, then that isn't really conclusive evidence that Beth Shady = Roxanne
              • If this were any other extra, I'd agree with you. However, since Beth had a close relationship with one of the main members of the cast, I find whatever claims she might make regarding TPTB, her character's background, or the show itself more credible. Our Canon policy considers replies left by cast members on The Fuselage to be semi-canon. Is there a big difference between this mostly (nowadays) inactive VIP board and Beth & Jorge's podcasts? --LeoChris 09:00, January 15, 2012 (UTC)
                • The problem I have with this reasoning is there is no supporting confirmation of this from any other sources connected to the show, only what Beth wrote on her blog. It's basically akin to April Grace having said she imagined Miss Klugh to be a nun in her off-island life because the writers told her to fill in her own backstory (it still never had any on-screen relevance to her character's storyline). Until someone gets further clarification from Beth on whether she made the "Roxanne" reference just for fun or based on inside information -- it should only be included in the "Theories" section of Roxanne's character page, but not interpreted as official canon.
