Vote to "Keep", "Merge" or "Delete"

The article was originally a stub at the time it was marked for deletion. Since then, no serious work could have been be done on it before we decide its resolution; should the Redemption page be kept, merged or deleted ?

Vote Keep, Merge ( with Common Themes page) or Delete below:

  • Merge Send it over to the Common Themes page.--Tricksterson 08:40, 1 November 2006 (PST)
  • Keep It's a stub right now, but IMHO, is a well-developed theme on Lost deserving of its own page. It just needs time to be worked on, but redemption is a theme in almost every episode. --PandoraX 06:51, 2 November 2006 (PST)
  • Keep An article on this theme in particular has a great potential for growth and related theories. I strongly vote for keeping it.-- 17:30, 7 November 2006 (PST)
  • Keep Now that this article has some substance I think it's no longer a stub (which I've removed), and I think we can keep it. I proposed the deletion so if thers no other opinions I'm fine with removing the template -- Paladine<c.t> 18:52, 7 November 2006 (PST)

Decision to keep; well-fleshed out article now. --PandoraX 17:00, 16 January 2007 (PST)

Sorted by episode/season

I hope noone minds that I changed te article to be sorted by episode/season. It will be neat to see if this theme continues to thrive as the series progresses into the rest of season 3, etc. We could possibly add a summary section at the top of the article that shows which characters have sought/discussed redemption. --Dagg 16:33, 16 January 2007 (PST)

  • Looks good to me... I think the summary, as simple as it is now is fine. Because when it comes down to it, many of the characters that haven't actually said the word "redemption" still have "issues" with the theme. --PandoraX 17:00, 16 January 2007 (PST)

Hurley

Established by the producers as Hurley's main motivation, he has had to get used to change on the island.

Can someone expand on this? It's very vague. Fat Burger 09:00, 18 May 2007 (PDT)
  • I wrote it, but I agree. If someone could find a good way to elaborate on this, it would be great.--MacCruiskeen 12:13, 18 May 2007 (PDT)

Baptism

The baptism image is an exceedingly poor choice for the top of the article; Claire wanted to be baptized for protection, not for redemption. She did it because she was worried about her child's safety, not because she wanted to wipe away her and Aaron's sins. -Silence 14:29, 28 July 2007 (PDT)

"Claire symbolically seeks redemption through baptism"

Catholics believe the Sacrament of Baptism is actually redemptive and not a symbol of salvation. As Claire is baptized by Mr. Eko, it's inaccurate to say she symbolically seeks salvation. --LightSpectra 19:36, 7 March 2008 (PST)

Ben's redemption

I would think Ben's redemption is definitely NOT when he tells his real name to the Losties, but rather in There's no Place Like Home, when he says to John "I'm sorry I made your life so miserable" (may be in the wrong tense) and then proceeds to turn the Frozen Donkey Wheel.--Ainulindale 15:16, 31 May 2008 (PDT)
