Q: What did the one snowman say to the other snowman?
A: Do you smell carrots? :D LOSTonthisdarnisland 11:53, 11 May 2006 (PDT)

What is this article supposed to be? It's kind of confusing. It says The pilot's name is Kelvin...but I'm assuming that this means that everything here is a rumor? What's with all the snowman talk? If this is supposed to be a page of untrue rumors...maybe they shouldn't be phrased in the affirmative.--Bremerton 08:22, 18 May 2006 (PDT)

The sentence at the top of the page explains that they have no basis. I reworded it. In my opinion, the affirmative phrasing is consistent with theories throughout the site, most of which are also untrue. --Ernest 11:44, 18 May 2006 (PDT)
I guess it's confusing, especially if you miss the sentence explain they're not true...it'll just serve to perpetuate the mistruths. Why not just put the reason each item is debunked right after each one?--Bremerton 13:03, 18 May 2006 (PDT)
It is a bit confusing in the current form. I reworded some of the entries to make it clear they are talking about rumors. I created the page with the intent was to collect the various pieces of misinformation that is frequently circulated on the internet as fact. This page would serve as an easy way to debunk and correct the the bad information (which continues to be posted to other pages on this site).--Uth 09:50, 1 June 2006 (PDT)

Gary Troup Rumor might be true[]

Here's a new article that repeats the Gary Troup/Turbine Man claim. They attribute the claim to Michael Benson, the senior vice president of marketing at ABC. I'm not sure if that's enough to make it officially canon, or if he's just repeating rumors he's heard, since he wouldn't work on the show directly. --Uth 10:22, 1 June 2006 (PDT)

One of the DVD commentaries says that Gary Troupe was the Turbine Man. I forget who said it and which track... or it was in one of the Lost: On Locations features. I will check and update later unless someone beats me to it. Tebor 22:17, 13 September 2006 (PDT)
In the commentary for 23rd Psalm, Damon says, "Charlie is wearing Gary, the Turbine Man's, clothes."JoserKyind 03:40, 15 October 2006 (PDT)

Smoke Monster Appeared in Pilot Episode and Other Lost Podcast Misinformation[]

Which Podcast did Damon debunk this? It needs to be cited. Tebor 22:18, 13 September 2006 (PDT)

  • This was said in the podcast & in 2 posts on the Fuselage... I've now added them to Turbine explosion for the exact links.
Another citation is needed for "Damon and Carlton in the podcast have said that the DHARMA logo was not fully conceived as a symbol until Season 2." I personally don't remember hearing this. Tebor 22:24, 13 September 2006 (PDT)
  • I'm fairly certain this was on the podcast, but also on the DVD, but I will have to find the actual references for this one. --PandoraX 22:08, 23 January 2007 (PST)
"Arzt would become a major character in Season 2" - Was not said at all. They were talking about Janelle and it was season 3. Tebor 22:24, 13 September 2006 (PDT)

Compulsive liar[]

I don't know where this came from, but back towards the beginning of season 2 everyone seemed to think that someone would end up being a compulsive liar, and then it became Libby who was supposed to be this person. As far as I know no one who works on the show has ever said anything to indicate this. Does this have a place on this page? Merick 11:25, 13 November 2006 (PST)

  • Glad to see I think someone deleted this... it's not a persistent rumor (yes, it was Libby they meant, which did come out in the show). --PandoraX 22:11, 23 January 2007 (PST)

Frogurt mention?[]

  • Can someone come up with a better example of "lies the podcast told me"? I mean, there are times when they are a little overvague and bordering on contradictory, but I've been transcribing the podcasts, and I have not come upon something so flagrant or conflicting from show canon as this part of the article makes it seem. For example, I think the Frogurt line was just a joke. They also talk about Zombie Season 7, bringing a rap star on to be Ben's neighbor in Otherville, and many other ridiculous things.... and it's clear they are being sarcastic. --PandoraX 22:11, 23 January 2007 (PST)

Hurley saw Locke fall[]

I wasn't sure where to put it, "debunked theories" or "persistent rumors"? It did come up as a theory before TMFT aired, and it's still been around afterwards (since it came up as a user question in the subsequent podcast).--Nevermore 17:03, 13 April 2007 (PDT)
