SPOILER ALERT Edit

Front page article says: "Get ready to return to the island one last time: The final season of ABC's "Lost" is going to be an emotionally intense journey that harks back to previous highlights of the series, with the ideological battle between Jack Shephard and John Locke taking center stage. "

Umm, last sentence? A major spoiler. What the hell is it doing on the front page?

I used to trust you, Lostpedia.

Charles widmore 22:25, January 7, 2010 (UTC)

  • I think LOST was always about Jack vs. Locke. You can see all that since the very first season. On the second season it gets higher, then it's broken 'cause they almost don't see each other in season three. And, after Jack pulls the trigger in Locke's head, I don't think I should waste time talking about the conflicts from season four. For me, it's always been very clear. Faith versus science. And I guess that's what those lines were talking about, and I guess fans wouldn't be thinking that this theme would not be in the final season. If you're understanding another thing about this line, I guess you have been reading spoilers, 'cause I don't read spoilers and I have no clue about how would this phrase be spoiling me. -- Lucas Benicá | Talk | Email | 23:55, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
    • I have to agree with the above. I don't see how that is a spoiler. Did you really think there would be no confrontation between the two big leaders of the show? Yes, Locke is dead, but that doesn't mean there can't be a battle between them. Trust me, if there was any kind of spoiler in that article, Lostpedia would not have posted it all at, and certainly not on the front page. I know people are on edge about getting spoiled before the final season (I don't want to read anything either) but jeez, this is just a little OTT, don't you think?--Baker1000 00:06, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

"The Incident" re-broadcast Edit

ABC is going to re-broadcast "The Incident, Part 1" Tuesday, January 26 at 9:00/8:00 CST. PDF -- Graft   talk   contributions  04:11, January 10, 2010 (UTC)
Just looking at the week of the premiere on there, and found something interesting. The episode of Modern Family which airs that week is called "The Incident"...isn't that the show Julie Bowen is now in? Interesting stuff.--Baker1000 12:43, January 10, 2010 (UTC)

Sweepstakes Edit

Just won the sweepstakes. SO GOOD! Dbarts21 00:57, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

Congrats! Do they say when you will get the prize?--Baker1000 21:42, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

Washington Post Chat-er-view Edit

Pictogram voting support Kudos to our founder Kevin Croy and adminstrators Paul Kerton and Sam McPherson for a job well done with Jen Chaney and Liz Kelly who are the LOST bloggers for the Washington Post! If you haven't seen it, check it out.- MRMIKE T  C  E  22:00, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

Next time on lost (Ireland) Edit

RTÉ (Irish broadcaster) has a programme called "Lost: Final Chapter " scheduled for 9pm Thursday Feb 4th. See here http://tvsales.rte.ie/programming/week5.htm sounds like a recap episode? --MR IRISH 18:29, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

Sky1 are also airing the same thing before the premiere, not "Lost: Final Chapter" like was previously scheduled. [1] The front page needs updating for both of these countries.--Baker1000 20:59, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

Remove the "Create post" link from the main page Edit

This may sound a bit grumpy, but I think the "Create post" link under the Latest Wiki Blog Posts section should be removed from the main page. Ever since that was added, it seems like there have been a lot more blog posts from newbies that sound like they haven't read anything else on this site before posting. Now, I have nothing against newbies in general -- I certainly welcome fresh minds contributing to Lostpedia -- nor do I have anything against people posting what's on their mind -- but it seems like having a "Create Post" link on the main page just encourages Lost fans who first discover this site to just post whatever thoughts they already had about the show (such as "I hope there's not a reset" or "What do you think the numbers mean?"), without bothering to learn their way around or to even read what other people have been blogging about, and it diminishes the overall quality of the Lostpedia community blogs. --Celebok 06:48, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

I totally agree with Celebok and I am sure that others who frequent the Lostpedia Community Blogs do as well. It seems that with the influx of new users is spiking with both the release of season 5 (a lot of new folks are watching Lost for the first time) and with the premiere of season 6 just next week. As a result, many newer users who just discovered Lostpedia are posting redundant blogs about something that several others have commented about because they never scroll down, they just hit "Create New Article/Blog" because it is right there and convenient. Perhaps placing the "Create New" button within a user-tab, only accessible by clicking around? Just a thought but I support this idea. Best Regards, BMetcalf82 06:59, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

Agree with the comments above and have removed the link. Hopefully this will make a difference. If it doesn't, I might put it back. --Blueeagleislander 07:18, January 28, 2010 (UTC)
Cool, thanks for the quick response! While I certainly don't expect this to completely stop the influx of people posting redundant thoughts, hopefully this will at least encourage new people to look around this site a bit before they start posting. --Celebok 08:36, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

Season 6 Date confirmed AustraliaEdit

It starts February 10th with the recap at 8.30pm followed by the 2-hour premier at 9.30pm on 7Two.

http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2010/01/returning-lost-3.html/

Additionally, in the Australian airdates section, it states that the same episode is re-run on Channel Seven at 11:30pm the same night that aired earlier that evening on 7TWO. However, due to these repeats breaking the two-part season premiere "LA X" into two episodes and airing them over two separate weeks, the episode that airs at 11:30pm is actually the episode that aired at 8:30pm (not 9:30pm) the previous week. So for example, Episode 4 (The Substitute) aired at 8:30pm on February 17 on 7TWO, and then at 11:30pm Channel Seven aired Episode 3 (What Kate Does). The repeats are running a week behind.

Season 6 Date confirmed in IrelandEdit

Season 6 has a confrmed Irish broadcast date of Thursday 4th February on RTÉ 2 (not Sky) at 8pm for a recap (listed as Lost:Final Chapter by RTÉ and Sky), and 9pm for "LA X". Could some one update when possible please? This has been conifrmed in TV adverts, Sky digital listings, etc... MR IRISH 12:41, January 29, 2010 (UTC)

I'll ask one of the SysOps personally.--Baker1000 20:13, January 29, 2010 (UTC)

Could some update the Next on Lost Irish section please, as listed above, "LA X" is being shown on Feb 4th at 9pm on RTÉ 2, and the recap at 8pm. Heres a source if one is needed:http://uk-tv-guide.com/list/RT%C9+2/04%20February%202010/ Thanks. MR IRISH 20:27, February 1, 2010 (UTC)

Do you have a more official link? The RTÉ site still says it will air on Sundays at 9PM. February 4th is a Thursday.    Jabberwock    talk    contribs    email   - 20:39, February 1, 2010 (UTC)
This is the link DarkUFO gave a few weeks ago [2] However it's still not official. I am beginning to wonder if they have changed it.--Baker1000 21:08, February 1, 2010 (UTC)
Here's a link with the date in bold at the bottom http://www.rte.ie/arts/2010/0127/lost.html The recap is at 8.00 and LA x is from 9 to 10.50 s_wrenn
Just quick observation, Sky1 isn't showing "What Kate Does" on Feb 9th (They're showing a repeat of "LAx") Checking the Sky planner, the nest episode is on Feb 12th 9p, s_wrenn 10:45, February 6 2010

Characters Edit

On the bottom, Ilana/Frank/Richard should be moved to main characters. --Golden Monkey 13:35, February 3, 2010 (UTC)

Will do that, and other S6 updates. --Blueeagleislander 13:43, February 3, 2010 (UTC)
  • Also the season 6 main page, to be unlocked. So editing can be done for it. Buffyfan123 14:06, February 3, 2010 (UTC)

New slogan, anyone? Edit

How about "They're coming!" for a change, at least temporarily. Fits more with the plot of the final season, IMHO. — Iimitk  T  C  15:59, February 3, 2010 (UTC)

  • Pictogram reply This mantra was on the main page yesterday above the countdown clock (somebody had a premonition) and is bouncing around on Twitter today...as Jack told John..."nothing's irreversible."- MRMIKE T  C  E  16:43, February 3, 2010 (UTC)
  • "What Kate Does" is scheduled to air on RTÉ 2 on Thursday 11th Feb at 9.55pm if someone could update please. sources: http://entertainment.ie/tv/display.asp and Sky digital guide Its probable that most of the rest of the season will stick to this time slot going on previous years. Thanks. MR IRISH 23:36, February 5, 2010 (UTC)
I like the idea of changing the slogan to "Nothing's irreversible". "We'll be your constant..." is a little stale.  Robert K S   tell me  08:53, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

The slogan rotates based on the day of the week.    Jabberwock    talk    contribs    email   - 20:54, February 9, 2010 (UTC)

I have been watching the slogan ever since i saw your post stating that it rotates based on the day of theweek and it has been 'We'll be your constant" everytime i have looked. Am i missing something? Thanks {{SUBST:User:jdray/autosig}} 02:33, March 1, 2010 (UTC)
Really? Right now it says "They're coming." for me. And I've seen "Nothing's irreversible" too.--Baker1000 13:18, March 1, 2010 (UTC)
I see now that you are discussing the heading on the info box about upcoming episodes on the right side of the page. I was talking about the slogan in the welcome to lostpedia box on the top of the homepage. sorry for the confusion. {{SUBST:User:jdray/autosig}} 16:55, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

New Banner at the top of the page? Edit

Maybe it'd be cool for a new design.. Or at least some alterations.. For instance it turns out there was never a mushroom cloud from the Jughead nuke so getting rid of that might be appropriate. don't have a whole lot of new ideas for the banner but I'm sure we could all come up with some new ideas :) --You?...Me! 03:56, February 5, 2010 (UTC)

The Monster missing from index section at the bottom of the screen Edit

Just thought I'd point this out, we have a fairly major character in The Monster/The Man In Black who isn't given in the Supporting Characters section at all! LOST-Figg 09:17, February 5, 2010 (UTC)

Will do. --Blueeagleislander 04:29, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

LA X, Part 2 rerun Edit

Just to let you know for the "Next Time on Lost" section: there is a rerun of "LA X, Part 2" on Tuesday, February 9 from 8:00-9:00 before "What Kate Does". ShadowUltra 18:43, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

Article Count Edit

  • Maybe this isn't the right place to post this but i didn't know where a good place would be. Notice that we are at 5,981 articles right now and so i thought tonihgt's episode might put us over the top and we would break the 6,000 article mark. It could be a nice milestone to commemorate. Not sure we'll make it to 7,000 but i could be wrong. {{SUBST:User:jdray/autosig}} 01:30, February 10, 2010 (UTC)
  • Currently at 5,998!--Baker1000 19:53, February 10, 2010 (UTC)

Season 6 German air dates Edit

I am missing Germany under "Next Time on Lost". T-Home Entertain offers subtitled IPTV On-Demand HD episodes of Lost at 0.99 € each, episodes 1-3 of season 6 are currently available. I am watching it on TV right now. ;-) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by YetiCGN (talkcontribs) 2010-02-10T16:15:41.

  • "The Substitutes" is now available for streaming, too. See Videoload YetiCGN 19:10, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

Lost is on A-Channel, not CTV during Olympics In Canada Edit

CTV has confirmed on their website that much of their primetime lineup, including Lost, will be broadcast on A-Channel in Canada over the next 2 weeks because of the Olympics. Maybe the main page "Next Time On Lost" block of upcoming channels should be updated. I would jump in and do it, but don't want to muck with the main page, nor A Channel graphic as a noob. Don820 12:25, February 11, 2010 (UTC)

  • Pictogram voting support Also, the episodes will be broadcast at 7pm EST during those two weeks, instead of the usual 9pm.--NamesnotAnnie 02:32, February 16, 2010 (UTC)
  • This is now back to CTV - please adjust the logo. It is still running at 7PM while American Idol runs on Tuesdays. Radagastwiz 05:29, March 4, 2010 (UTC)
    • The airtime is still wrong on the main page, please change it to 7PM ET. Duggie2 05:44, March 16, 2010 (UTC)

Season 6 air dates for Germany Edit

Lighthouse will be available on-demand in Germany (English audio with German subtitles) from iTunes and Videoload on Feb 24th! YetiCGN 10:50, February 23, 2010 (UTC)

  • It's on now, even before UK! I can't understand why nobody would put this on the main page. I bet a lot of German fans are reading this Wiki. YetiCGN 22:46, February 24, 2010 (UTC)
    • The English Lostpedia only lists English-speaking nations, the German Lostpedia [3] should list German airdates. --Blueeagleislander 09:18, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

Australia and New Zealand air date Edit

The air dates for Australia and New Zealand need to be updated.--Joshm1995 07:06, March 9, 2010 (UTC)

Nikki and Paulo Edit

Please, Please, take Nikki and Paulo off of the main character list and put them as supporting characters. It is ridiculous how these two are considered main characters. They appeared in like two episodes, and were completley hated. Those two characters are the only things I have ever hated about Lost, so please put them were they belong... the supporting characters.

I never liked them, but just because they never had much impact on the story it doesn't mean they're not main characters. They were credited as main cast members, so that's why they are considered main characters.--Baker1000 00:09, March 10, 2010 (UTC)
Um, on that note...can Frank and Ilana now be removed from the supporting character list on the bottom? They're now main cast but are listed in both. --Golden Monkey 15:20, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

Slow Updating Edit

Is there any reason why locked pages are so slow to be updated? It was fairly quick last season. The season 6 nav template, for instance, only had the centricity of Sundown added days later. Dr Linus' has yet to be updated. And the main page says that the latest episode aired is Sundown and that Dr Linus is still new. The last one is especially baffling because that means somebody took the time to add Recon but not to remove Dr Linus. Shouldn't there be people who are set to update it after every episode...? --Golden Monkey 15:20, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

I agree, it is taking longer than it should to update locked articles. I know the SysOps all have lives outside of the wiki, but if it is the case that they are too busy to update these articles then I think it is a good idea to give at least one regular the power to edit locked pages. I'm not talking about having a new SysOps like some users were blogging about last week, but if it's possible then someone who is usually online right after the episode finishes airing in the US should be given the job of updating a few locked templates and articles.--Baker1000 20:19, March 11, 2010 (UTC)
  • Maybe we should select at least 3 people, that way its more easier than just having one person do the job. 07:50, March 12, 2010 (UTC)

Elementary School Book Edit

Jacob Have I Loved is a novel by Kathrine Paterson that won the 1981 Newbery Medal. The title refers to the sibling rivalry between Jacob and Esau in the Jewish and Christian Bible, and comes directly from Romans 9:13: As it is written, "Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated."

The relationship between the 2 brothers is not new, but it is the first time I made a connection with the children's book.

Hulu Best Series Edit

How come doesn't Lostpedia mention that Lost recently won as Hulu's Best Series? (http://www.hulu.com/spotlight/bestinshow/4/1) --Dr. James (4 8 15 16 23 42) 06:14, April 6, 2010 (UTC)

  • Agreed, I would love to see that up on the main page.--Frank J Lapidus 06:19, April 6, 2010 (UTC)

Next on Lost Edit

Could some one please update the next on Lost for Ireland please. Its still showing 'The Package' from a few weeks back. 'The Last Recruit' airs in Ireland on RTÉ 2 Thursday April 22nd at 10pm. Sources http://tvlistings.guardian.co.uk/text-only/?tvgDayOffset=6f&tvgBroadcaster=UKSkyCable&tvgRegion=Ulster+%28Digital%29&tvgFlagFilter=&tvgChannelName=RTE+Two and http://entertainment.ie/tv/display.asp MR IRISH 13:31, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

Can someone update the Australian airdates, appears someone hasn't updated since March, episodes have aired as normal. We really should of had one person who actually lives in each of those countries monitoring airdates, than just people who dont even live in that country. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Buffyfan123 (talkcontribs) 2010-04-20T01:37:53.

The next episode on Lost to be aired in Ireland is 'The Candidate' airs in Ireland on RTÉ 2 on Thursday May 6th at 9.55pm. source http://uk-tv-guide.com/list/RT%C9+2/06%20May%202010/

Also, for the UK the 'Next on Lost' section claims 'The Candidate' airs April 30th. Last time I checked Sky digital guide this was not the case - I'd be very surprised if Sky got it before the original US broadcast! MR IRISH 20:42, April 24, 2010 (UTC)
