Rename

Shee is both Juliet and Rachel's mother, and we know her last name is Carlson because that's what her daughters names were before Juliet married. ShadowUltra 20:43, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Pictogram voting neutral I'm not sure about this one ... Juliet's parents are divorced. It's possible they're not both Carlsons. --LeoChris 21:19, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

  • Pictogram voting oppose No rename: I agree with LeoChris about the divorce. While we don't see the divorce happen, in Juliet's present it is clear that she still harbor's the feeling of disappointment, which wouldn't be the case if they'd stayed together. To me, this alone is a reason not to rename (as we don't know her correct last name). - NEVERGIVEUP  Contribs  Talk  17:08, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
  • Pictogram voting oppose No rename: because of the divorce --LOST-Hunter61 19:26, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Merge

As per Arlene and Joseph Stewart, I think this should be merged. Juliet's parents only appeared in one scene, and they were always together ... I doubt anything can be said about one but not the other, except for Juliet's mother's casting details. --LeoChris 21:15, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

  • Pictogram voting oppose On the other hand they have confirmed actors portraying them, unlike the Stewarts. --Orhan94 22:19, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
    • Pictogram voting comment Arlene's actress was credited. Joseph didn't have any lines. I'm just saying, if Juliet's parents each keep their own article, then maybe we should split the Stewarts instead ? --LeoChris 22:56, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
  • I vote to merge them into the same page. Marc604 06:51, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
  • Pictogram voting support Their brief appearence doesn't justify separate pages. Unless they reappear in Season 6 with greater significance, it stands to reason that these two minor, connected character's pages be merged. --Arjayoh 20:36, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
    • Pictogram reply What about characters such as Barfly, Dominique, Receptionist (A Tale of Two Cities), Anesthesiologist (The Incident), Indonesian boy, Imam, Partridge, Auctioneer, Buzz, Fern (Season 3 DVD) or London doorman... they have little to no lines in their episodes and they are granted their own articles and I think that unlike the Trons, the Carlsons were both credited in the episode had a significant role in Juliet's flashback. --Orhan94 21:36, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
    • Pictogram replyThat is true but this is an issue about merging two articles about a pair of minor characters. I stand by my arguements that their brief appearance cannot justify separate pages. --Arjayoh 15:02, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
      • Pictogram reply My point was we don't merge characters together the same way we don't merge together characters together if they are both uncredited or really really minor such as The Trans. Such as Sayid's mother isn't merged with Sayid's father there is no basis to merge Juliet's mother with Juliet's father. --Orhan94 18:55, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
        • Pictogram reply This wiki is here for the convenience of fans, and I don't believe we can justify separate pages for characters who we only have two sentences of information on. Would anything be lost if they were merged? I think merging pages where appropriate keeps Lostpedia concise and useful. --Arjayoh 16:40, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
          • Pictogram reply Finally I've found evidence to keep them apart based on LP policy. See Talk:U.S. Soldier No. 1. Every character credited by ABC Medianet gets an article and even though Juliet' mother isn't credited on the show, she is credited by ABC Medianet (she has to be, otherwise we wouldn't have had her actress' name confirmed), therefore this discussion is over. --Orhan94 18:56, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
            • Pictogram reply Ok, that makes sense if there's a precedent. I still don't agree with the policy, but that's my own issue.--Arjayoh 21:34, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
    • Pictogram voting opposeI disagree, he should not be merged with Juliet's mother. They are 2 seperate people, why would you merge them? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by JamieE030 (talkcontribs) .
  • Pictogram voting oppose Maybe I'm missing the point, but doesn't it even matter that it is clear they get divorced. While we don't see the divorce happen, in Juliet's present it is clear that she still harbor's the feeling of disappointment, which wouldn't be the case if they'd stayed together. Being that they divorce, the only merge possible would have to say "Juliet's parents" as they would then have different last names. To me, this alone is a reason not to merge, or rename (as we don't know her correct last name).(just realized that merge discussion is over. Moving thoughts to rename discssion) - NEVERGIVEUP  Contribs  Talk  17:00, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
