Talk:Jin Has a Temper-Tantrum on the Golf Course
Back to page
Stupid title, anyone? --SilvaStorm
- Yup. Maybe, just to tidy the top navigation up we could change the title to 'Jin Has A Temper-Tantrum ...' but include the full title in the article. I'm not a fan of the big gap it's creating. I'm usually all for these mobisodes but this one really was pointless.
- Holy crap, that was TERRIBLE! Jin acts completely out of character and the subtitles are just laughable. That was absolutely ridiculous. I mean, honestly, this beats Nikki and Paulo. Evil-pineapples 15:13, 14 January 2008 (PST)
- Eheheh. I liked both this and "Exposé". Guess we got different tastes, eh?--Nevermore 16:02, 14 January 2008 (PST)
- I dont think it was completely out of character. Jin probably said this sorta thing in Season 1 but we just didn't know precisely what he was saying. --Blueeagleislander 16:31, 14 January 2008 (PST)
- People can do a lot of out of character things when they're golfing.--Catalanowned 17:42, 14 January 2008 (PST)
- Yeah the last one didn't have a good title either. Is this a result of the writers strike? Haha. No writers to give a half clever name? So we instead just get a description of what the mobisode is.. Voodoo
- Seriously, stupid title. It's not like they have to be super creative with the titles. They could have titled this "The Tantrum" or "The Golf Course." Last week's could have just been "Ethan." I mean, it's one thing to give stupid titles if the title isn't seen on the screen, as in "Friends" or regular season episodes of Lost. But this?--Webbrg 12:48, 16 January 2008 (PST)
- We use full titles. This discussion should be over by now.--Mc peko 17:24, 27 September 2008 (PDT)

Change to Jin only
Edit
Although other characters appear in this mobisode, it's clear it is entirely focused around Jin, so the top template should say (Jin) instead of (Various). ShadowUltra 13:44, 14 January 2008 (PST)
Leaked?
Edit
In the Trivia section it says "This mobisode was leaked in full quality the same day as the Verizon version was released". Uh... it was? Why then is this the only mention of it?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Stoko (talk • contribs) .
- If you look on DarkUFO's blog, the full-quality version is posted. And sign your comments. Evil-pineapples 17:38, 14 January 2008 (PST)
- Yes. I wrote that. And I have it saved locally. Leaks happen quite often.--Mc peko 05:00, 15 January 2008 (PST)

Edit
I wanted to upload the official abc.com image for this ep, but somehow uploading files is disabled? The upload directory (/var/www/html/images) is not writable by the webserver.--DJVok 01:28, 15 January 2008 (PST)

Does anyone think we can put it as 25-44? In Hearts and Minds, Hurley says Jin hasn't spoken to him or looked him in the eye since the sea urchin incident. Just thinking outloud.--Catalanowned 18:42, 15 January 2008 (PST)
- I think it has to be some time in "The Greater Good" because the clothes of Hurley, Jin and Michael would fit. I won't change it yet cause I want some opinions first.--SteUeRunG! 17:51, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- Obi-Dan Kenobi: How do we know this is day 41?--Mc peko 17:26, 24 August 2008 (PDT)
- I don't know how this it is confirmed to be day 41. It occurs sometime in Season 1, but we don't know what day. -- CTS Talk Contribs 17:58, 24 August 2008 (PDT)
What's the point?
Edit
As a long-time Lost watcher, I came away from this mobisode asking (like many people) "What was the point of that?" I seriously doubt it was just filler, knowing the producers. So what was the point of that mobisode? We knew Jin was lonely, that he played golf, and that he wanted the handcuff off. Were they trying to show something else, maybe? That the island could affect people like that? Could the heavy focus on Jin's lonliness be setting up some Season 4 expose - maybe he was approached shortly after this by a Korean-speaking Other we never saw? Or was the failure of the ball to go in the hole a metaphor for Sun's pregnancy - alluding that Jin is not the daddy? This is all pure conjecture of course, but opinions are welcome! --Pedxing 07:19, 28 January 2008 (PST)
- It's to end the theory that Jin speaks English, most likely. -Decboy 09:00, 23 May 2008 (PDT)
- It's also to show the comedic talents of all three gentlemen in the piece. It's actually a wonderfully timed humor piece. Although it appears Garcia and Perrineau aren't doing much? They're lending focus to Kim during his tirade, which helps to sell the gag. I wish they could do more stuff like this in the series. What was the point of Charlie singing the Drive Shaft song to Kate in the pilot? Nothin'. It was just funny. Not everything has to have an earth-shattering point to the series' mythology. - ZachsMind 02:51, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
Clearly a reference to Happy Gilmore
Edit
Unless anyone has a different opinion i think it should be noted on the main article. Anyone who has seen the movie should recall Happy (Adam Sandler) Missing a put and flipping out and ranting about the ball not going in to the hole. --Scrilly 04:44, 11 March 2008 (PDT)Sean C
- Um...that's happened in a lot of different things. I doubt it. -- Sam McPherson T C E 11:56, 11 March 2008 (PDT)
Happy's entire rant is about the ball going home. If you take that into consideration along with the producers pencant for referencing pop-culture it seemed like it was done on purpose. Either way its just a thought. thats why I put it here and not the main page. Thats also the only time for me when I can remember someone flipping out like that after missing a put in popular culture. --Scrilly 13:30, 11 March 2008 (PDT)

- In the new Lost Magazine they have the script for this scene, and on top it says it's day 41. I'll get you a scan, but I don't know how. ODK Talk Sandbox 16:51, 26 August 2008 (PDT)
- That would be great. We also need it for the article.--Mc peko 17:27, 27 September 2008 (PDT)
Timeline Discussion 2
Edit
The fifth time flash also on the same day, and Sawyer, Locke, Juliet, Daniel, Miles, and Charlotte were on the mesa, but why they didn't see Jin, Michael and Hugo on the golf course?--yk linus, 3 March 2009 (PDT)
- Good catch; but a couple of things. The time skippers weren't there very long. They decided to move on to the Orchid shortly after they flashed to that day, so it could've just been a different time in the day. Also, it's not clear that the Army camp was in the same spot of the valley as the golf course. You can't see that distinctive mountain ridge as seen from the mesa in "Pilot, Part 1" and "The Man Behind the Curtain" (this is sort of a problem for the mesa article - what gets defined as the mesa). -- Graft talk contributions 19:38, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
