Talk:Hotels and motels

Deletion

Is this page really needed? It doesn't contain any new information or anything constructive, just a one line fact which could be put in an episode article. -- Lost Soul talk contribs 01:59, 9 December 2006 (PST)
- Delete Yeah, I don't know about this one. I guess it is useful to know which characters stayed in the same hotel for connections reasons, but it's more just a list page than anything. At the least, I think we need to rename it without "The" and maybe specify "Sydney hotel". At this point, there's been many hotels shown on Lost. --PandoraX 22:20, 9 December 2006 (PST)
- Keep or Pandora, do you have a long list of locations page we can merge this with? It is interesting, and a location, like the Sydney Airport that the storyline returns to again and again. The article is too short obviously, not even worth a stub, but I'm sure we could add relevant content. It's also interesting to note other hotels, such as Christian Shephard's The Lynford (AA meeting). -- Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯ Talk 00:19, 10 December 2006 (PST)
- Keep Why don't we make this a list of Hotels that appear in Lost and their significance? This one, the one Christian met in for AA, the hotel Jin worked at, etc. As a reference list to the hotels, this would make the article actually worth something.--Mr.Leaf 16:31, 10 December 2006 (PST)
- Delete This article has no references, no unique content, and nothing links to it. Someone can re-create this again later with more content if they want.
Merge or delete - perhaps there should be an article on the hotel, but with the actual name if possible, "The hotel" is very ambiguous. Also content is lacking. This is really like doing an article on "Jack's apartment" or "Charlie's childhood home" so I support deletion --Nickb123 (Talk) 11:07, 11 December 2006 (PST)
- Rewrite to what Mr. Leaf said we should do. I like that idea. If a SySop agrees that this is the right thing to do, I'll do the information gathering and editing the page and make it a List page, so that it is worthy of being here.--LOCI!

- Keep or Merge It may not be vitally important to the storyline, but I think the fact that four characters spent the same night in the same hotel is more than a trivial detail. Yes, they were all getting on the same flight the next day, but it isn't like the hotel was right next to the airport. Micheal was picking Walt up from Brian and Susan's house. Charlie was visiting his brother. Hurley was visiting Martha Toomey out in the middle of nowhere. Plus it took Hurley a decent amount of time to get from the hotel to the airport.--Slugless 16:22, 20 December 2006 (PST)
- List of hotels that this can be merged with - Seoul Gateway Hotel, Lynford Hotel, The Rocks Hotel. Also unnamed hotels, such as where Shannon and Boone stayed when they slept together. --lewisg 07:08, 13 December 2006 (PST)
- Merge - We should have a general "List of hotels" or "Hotels" article that encompasses them all. (Note:hospitals is currently only a dismabiguation page.)-- Contrib¯ _Santa_ ¯ Talk 00:16, 21 December 2006 (PST)
- Decision - Good idea on the merge, I think this solution makes everyone happy. We had a whole bunch of tiny stubs with motels and hotels, and I just followed the example of bars, and made it a list page. Works out nicely, I think. --PandoraX 07:09, 21 December 2006 (PST)

Hurley not entering lift
Edit
"As Hurley is rushing to get on the flight, he tries to get in an elevator in the hotel, but as the door opens there are too many people in there and he runs down the stairs opposite. (A reference to the Collapsing deck accident.) Charlie is also in the elevator and shouts at Hurley saying "Some of us have a bloody flight to make!" I thought Hurley didn't get on the lift simply because it was full, not because of the collapsing deck accident. --Blueeagleislander 23:26, 26 April 2008 (PDT)
