Adopted?Edit

Do we really know she adopted John? If she did, then why did John keep his birth last name? I believe that he was John Locke before he met his birth mother, so that would not indicate him changing his surname as an adult. Hazel 06:49, 17 May 2008 (PDT)

Good point. I think that's a mistake on the part of an editor. Fostering and adoption are not the same thing. As a foster child it makes sense that he would keep his original family name. Had he been adopted, he would have taken Florence's. I've changed the adopted reference to fostered on the article.--TechNic|talk|conts 06:57, 17 May 2008 (PDT)
