Flash hangs @ 88sec???[]

I am using Safari on OSX, and the test 1 flash always hangs at 88 sec (buttons cannot be pressed). Anyone out there got the same prob? --SP1950 08:30, 20 August 2008 (PDT)

Right now the site doesn't even start up for me. I just get the background. Jinxmchue 09:49, 20 August 2008 (PDT)
It's because of such high traffic, that happened to me, the servers can't handle this many visitors.--JinxTalk Contribs 10:11, 20 August 2008 (PDT)
I go to the website, it shows the background. After like 30 secs it starts working. Although I can't loggin or take the test. The thing Talk 10:42, 20 August 2008 (PDT)

Disappointment[]

I can't describe how much I am frustrated. After a whole month of waiting, we got... a test? A simle flash-test with countdown? Cheez, Find 815 was way more exiting than that. I'm afraid about what's to come next... Malachi 13:21, 20 August 2008 (PDT)

My thoughts exactly. Months of waiting after the season finale, waiting after Comic-Con. So far, some emails and a test. Lame. --PappyBlueRibs 20:05, 20 August 2008 (PDT)

I think that everyone needs to remember that we have a long time until the show comes back on so things may take a while to get rolling. The

The biggest thing that everyone seems to be missing with this new test is that it really isn't a test on how fast you can put TANGRAMS together but we need to put the metephorical puzzles pieces together:

    1. We recieved the message "I AM ON THE INSIDE" when the site was "hacked"
    2. You can cheat at this first test by pressing space bar and freezing the timer and achiving a score of 99% (some say that was hidden in the title of the test "PRESSurized SPAtial..")

To me this all adds up to someone on the inside (a Rachel Blake like character) helping us to get into the Dharma Initiative as quickly and as high ranking as possible. I don't doubt that subsiquent tests will have a way for us to achive the highest possible score as well and that the "leader board" (if they ever actually use it) will be completely full with people obtaining the max score on every test. I'm sure all will be revieled in due time but the writers can't keep us entertained for every minute with some ARG until the January so there is bound to be some down time until the really interesting stuff. --SolarSunSpot 14:57, 22 August 2008 (PDT)

Results[]

  • I've done the test multiple times now, and each time, it doesn't record any results, and the buttons freeze. Has anyone else encountered this problem? What is the point to this even? The 'test' is a joke, it has to be.Mnbvcx 14:44, 20 August 2008 (PDT)
It is supposed to be saved but due to high traffic the servers just don't seem to handle it. It only recorded my record a few times. --Ext 14:46, 20 August 2008 (PDT)
  • I am having the same problem, after waiting so long to get through to the test, it ends up not recording this. Not once has it recorded my score. ABC has greatly underestimated the amount of people who will be participating in this. I hope they can improve the server very soon, because I know many people are experiencing problems like this. -- #1LostFan  talk  contribs  Lost Wiki  15:14, 20 August 2008 (PDT)
  • This seems to be a common theme lately. The ARG isn't fun unless we can actively do it, the same thing happened with Find815. I'll just wait a day or so and do it later. Not even going to bother trying. -Mr.Leaf 15:24, 20 August 2008 (PDT)

Countdown[]

The countdown timer goes red and an alarm is played when only 10 seconds remain. If you complete the puzzle in 4 or less seconds, when the remaining time counter empties to calculate your score it goes into the negative. The amount it goes into the negative is the difference between your time and 5, e.g. if you complete the puzzle with 3 seconds remaining, then it will "empty" to -2 seconds complete in 4 seconds then it will go to -1.--Berkerk 02:36, 21 August 2008 (PDT)

Challenging a friend[]

  • Has anyone actually tried doing this? Did it work for you? I got this message both times:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at octagonglobalrecruiting.com. I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

  • Is it just me, or does that last line ("Sorry it didn't work out") sound a bit weird? Maybe it's just me over-analysing...--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  03:02, 21 August 2008 (PDT)
  • I can assure you that there is nothing wrong with that line. Qmail is a standard MTA (I run it myself) and the above message is the default message sent to the sender when the message bounces. Depending on the configuration it might have given you a reason, misspelled address? --Ext 03:16, 21 August 2008 (PDT)
    • Oh, okay. Thanks. I got this: does not like recipient. Remote host said: 550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable. Weird...--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  03:29, 21 August 2008 (PDT)
    • The same thing happened to me when I sent it to an address that does not end with .com. Which is really irritating, cause like none of my friends have a .com e-mail, so I cannot recruit them.--Matochac 01:36, 24 August 2008 (PDT)
