David Shephard. . .hmmm...lives with his mother, a wiz at the piano, first name David. . .does it strike anyone else that he could be the David Farraday place holder in this sideways timeline?--Cjneuner 13:30, February 24, 2010 (UTC)

Nope, especially since "David Farraday" was called Daniel Faraday. :P And being a young teenager who lives with his mother is hardly unique or exclusive to Faraday... As for the piano playing, I figured it was more of a reference to Jack's own piano playing (as seen in "Do No Harm" and "The Man From Tallahassee").--BADavid 14:38, February 24, 2010 (UTC)
I think alt-Daniel Faraday is the Faraday placeholder. Well, assuming that there is a Faraday in the flash-sideways, and really they're throwing in everyone else so why not him? --Golden Monkey 16:02, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

- Are Jack and Christian really Dodgers fans. I thought they were Red Sox fans.--Krank1 07:20, February 27, 2010 (UTC)

David's mother[]

It has to be one of the Others who was on the Island in 1991 in the original timeline. Ben, Ethan, and Dogan are in LA, it seems reasonable that a number of the others are, too. It can't be Juliet, though, as she was in Miami at that time. CaptainSmartass 17:35, February 24, 2010 (UTC)

  - It COULD be juliet. and it doesnt HAVE to be one of the others.

- I think Davids mom is a one night stand back in med school--Gibbeynator 01:25, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

-If David's mother was someone of inconsequence, then we would have seen who she is. They are keeping us guessing because they either want to distract us with this little mystery or his mother is a big deal or his mother is an easter egg that will make us all giggle. --JinxadorahSnape 18:45, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

- Maybe David's mom will be the mysterious waving person--Gibbeynator 19:33, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

  • "David Shephard is the son of Jack Shephard and Juliet Carlson in the flash-sideways timeline. David is a gifted pianist, and lives with his mother, who has yet to be identified." Somebody's not only jumping the gun (though it's a plausible theory IMNSHO, I'm not sure where the evidence for Juliet is!), but they're getting a little sloppy too... I mean, come on, the sentences are RIGHT NEXT to each other! ಠ_ಠ -- MyrddinEmrys 04:08, May 24, 2010 (UTC)

Shepherd?[]

Are there any official sources that list David's last name as being "Shepherd?" Seeing as how his mother has custody of him and he felt somewhat alienated by Jack, it's possible that his name may have been changed to his mother's maiden name. So unless we have any official sources that refer to him as "David Shepherd," we should probably look into renaming the article to something like David (Jack's son). –Nahald 17:03, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

  • Didn't the message from the William's Conservatory call him David Shephard?--Gibbeynator 19:52, February 25, 2010 (UTC)
    • Yep, the message on the answering phone specifically called him "David Shephard". I'm glad it did too, because prior to that as I was watching the episode, I was just thinking "Man, the guys on Lostpedia are going to have a field day over the kid's surname..." :P --BADavid 22:10, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

Yes they called him David Shephard. That's correct.--Station7 21:56, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

Anybody else think he looks a bit like the Mysterious Boy?Cabeckett 02:22, April 21, 2010 (UTC)

  • Reply Not the same actor. --LeoChris 02:54, April 21, 2010 (UTC)

The Flash-sideways timeline does not really exist. It was actually the afterlife. This character does not really exist. He is just part of the afterlife. Jdray 05:14, May 24, 2010 (UTC)

Oh God. You go everywhere to cause trouble eh? The show actually never stated that David doesn't exist. --Dr. James (4 8 15 16 23 42) 22:50, May 28, 2010 (UTC)
