Talk:Christiane I
From Lostpedia
Christiane I, according to an email received from Tracey, is a "salvage vessel currently docked in Jakarta". It's due to leave on an expedition, but the destiny is confidential. User:Kidbomb

Confirmed Dead
The appearance of the ship as portrayed in the news in quite different from what we saw in the game! There can be two possibilities: 1) The game is incorrect in some ways (the discovery was also different from what we saw). 2) The news didn't had any footage of Christiane I, so they used store footage of some other ship.
Should I add all this to the trivia and theories? Malachi 02:19, 9 February 2008 (PST)
Naomi's Boat
The crew of the Christiane I is what's in store for the Losties in Season 4. It would seem that the Christiane I is not really a salvage vessel as the Season 4 previews show us that recovering, fixing, and rescuing Flight 815 is not their top priority. Also, Naomi has lied about everything she told Sayid in The Brig (her company was not hired by Penny, the wreckage of Flight 815 was never recovered and neither were the bodies, or if it was the rest of the world certainly knows nothing of it) except that she was part of a search and recover team. Therefore, we will soon discover that the Christiane I is not what they claim to be.
- Im not too sure of this, I think its more likely this is the boat that supposedly found the wreckage of 815 in the trench, which would be a nice angle coz we may be able to find out if Penny was telling the truth or whether it was all some kind of conspiracy. Talbot
I'm Not Sure if Talbot's first name is Owen... Ockham shouts to Owen, but then , he shows some respect to Mr. Talbot. I Guess, Owen is another Crew member, and we still don't know, Mr. Talbot's first name.
Actual Ship in existence?
http://aprs.fi/info/N0NSA would indicate that there is.
Differences between Find 815 and Confirmed Dead
Would anyone here seriously question that the ARG "Find 815" was based around the opening scene of "Confirmed Dead", which was written before the ARG was conceived, rather than the other way round? Because that'd mean that only details from the show itself are "canon", whereas details from the ARG are deutrocanonical, and in cases where the ARG differs from the details in the episode, the latter should take priority.--Nevermore 15:38, 10 February 2008 (PST)
- As per this interview with Damon and Carlton:
- LINDELOF: We cannot say that any of that stuff in Find 815 is in canon. The Maxwell Group is something that Hoodlum came up with. Last fall, we presented them with the idea that, at the beginning of the second episode, a salvage ship was going to find wreckage of Oceanic 815. From there, they came up with a story — and backstory — that led up to that event.
- CUSE: We provided the creative framework but didn't oversee the execution.
- LINDELOF: I'll sign off on this idea: The Christiane 1, which in the show was responsible for finding Oceanic 815, was in fact looking for the Black Rock. We established that in the show — but the people who owned the ship may have been up to a little bit more than just looking for the Black Rock.
- And a few lines further down:
- LINDELOF: The only true canon is the show itself.
- So I'd say that we should consider the depiction of the Christiane I in "Confirmed Dead" "canon", and the depictions from "Find 815", well, the "Find 815 reality" version of the ship.--Nevermore 06:49, 4 March 2008 (PST)
