Where did this appear?[]

I played the entire game, and I never saw this map once. I found it strange that it didn't appear, yet it was shown in the trailers (much like the hidden message on the compyter screen). The hatch didn't even have the Season 2 version, just the Swan part. Anyone shed some light on where in the game this might have been?--Baker1000 17:15, 10 March 2008 (PDT)

  • After Kate lets you out of the gun room, you need to go on the computer and close the correct blast door (the one with the map on it) and then turn on the black light(s) --Hugo815 17:24, 10 March 2008 (PDT)
    • Thanks, I'll try that. I did have a good fiddle with the lights but all I saw was the rather pointless map telling you there is a secret room.--Baker1000 17:36, 10 March 2008 (PDT)
The "blast door map" in the game isn't actually on the blast door. Its on a wall in the living area. Dharmatel4 14:24, 16 March 2008 (PDT)

I've not played the game, but I looked closer at the blast door map picture, and it does not say "quid est veritas," but rather "quid est veritus," which means "What (or why) did he fear?" -- if you zoom in you can clearly see that it is a U rather than an A, hence veritus (from the verb vereor, "to fear"). I know Latin quite well, so I thought I would help out here. The other translations on this page look fine to me, but this one stuck out like a sore thumb. Hope this helps? New screenshot?[]

Anyone able to get a new clean pic of this to replace the current one? The current one is from the trailer and appears to mixed with another image.--TechNic|talk|conts 19:53, 10 March 2008 (PDT)

Looking Glass and Hydra errors[]

Somebody put in the errors section that the LG and Hydra are on the east and on the north-west side of the island. Which if you look at the map doesn't show that at all. it has the LG to the south-west and the Hydra to the south-east right where they should be. I propose removing the errors section entirely. --The Cartographer 12:26, 12 March 2008 (PDT)

There is a detailed dicussion of the geographic errors in this blast door map in the dicussion on the main blast door map article. There are a number of arguments made there that you should review before dicussing this. Dharmatel4 14:20, 16 March 2008 (PDT)

Canon[]

After reviewing the producers comments about this, I think it is safe to view this map as canon. The producers said that there was more of the blast door map to be revealed. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 10:19, 16 August 2008 (PDT)

  • I agree. The producers have said that the game was meant to be about exploration of places we didn't get to see or just not enough of (eg the Black Rock, the Incident Room etc) for the hardcore fans of the show. I one hundred percent agree that the story itself is not canon, but they incident room and all the places on the island in the game are canon. Same with the Via Domus blast door map. The producers said that there was another part to the map, but now that the Swan is destoryed we will never be able to see it. That's where Via Domus comes in. It can show us and takes us to places that we wouldn't be able to go on the show. --The Cartographer 15:57, 16 August 2008 (PDT)

DAMON LINDELOF: Yes, based on Radzinsky's travels, that is an incredibly accurate map. Although, I would say that there is maybe some parts of it that we haven't seen yet because we know that under various lighting conditions different parts of the map are visible.
CARLTON CUSE: Right. There are two spectrums to that map and we've only seen one and he didn't know. Like, Radzinsky didn't make it underwater so, you know, there are certain things that exist that were part of the DHARMA Initiative that Radzinsky did not know about.
-Access: Granted

I think this quote is a blatant reference to the map being canon. Why else would the producers reference this and also put it in the video game? I think the map should be canon due to this quote above. -- CTS  Talk   Contribs 09:11, 17 August 2008 (PDT)
