Why is this page in the "Items" category? --MUW Fan|talk|contributions 05:29, 25 March 2008 (PDT)

Because in the "Herald" section, the items category was linked incorrectly. Fixed now.--TechNic|talk|conts 02:42, 4 April 2008 (PDT)

Magical Negro[]

This is NOT a recognised achetype. Basing a category on an 'archetype' such as this is ridiculous. It's gone to the point to where certain folk describe a white guy as a "magical Negro". Not ness on this site, but wikis in general. If a character displays any kind of gift, and are brown-skinned, its called "magical negro". doesn't this irk anyone?--moss ryder 01:35, 5 April 2008 (PDT)

Ironic how that sounds nearly like the arguments [you] used against [merging or deleting] mindf*ck. -- LOSTonthisdarnisland 01:53, 6 April 2008 (PDT)Edit to clarify10:21, 6 April 2008 (PDT)
Wanna keep the comments about that article to the two articles in question? Thank you. -- Plkrtn  talk  contribs  email  09:12, 6 April 2008 (PDT)
No. His vote to keep the other article is similar to, but opposite, his reaction to this subsection. Pointing it out here, under his objection was appropriate. Thank you. -- LOSTonthisdarnisland 10:19, 6 April 2008 (PDT)
No it isn't anything to do with it. And please, don't remove my comment I had already put, you know thats not allowed!  Plkrtn  talk  contribs  email  10:22, 6 April 2008 (PDT)
What are you on about? Please check history, because I didn't remove any comment of yours. -- LOSTonthisdarnisland 10:25, 6 April 2008 (PDT) Edit: plkrtn and I cleared this up on user talk pages; it was some sort of system error that was mistaken for comment removal. 11:29, 6 April 2008 (PDT)
Even if MN were a recognised archetype, would Rose fit? The "evidence" given ignores a major point in favour of calling her magical; she is a woman of faith, presumably Christian faith, based on the prayer she has with Charlie (who is Catholic). She doesn't simply dismiss Charlie's question as the article indicates; she says, "I just do. It's a fine line between denial and faith. It's much better on my side." That's faith, not "magic[al]". -- LOSTonthisdarnisland 07:51, 7 April 2008 (PDT)

  • Would this make a "white" character a "magical blanco"? It's just so silly. -- LOSTonthisdarnisland 08:54, 23 April 2008 (PDT)
No. I think the archetype centers around the fact that this character is of color and therefore by design, secondary to the main (often White) characters and there as a device to push that White characters' journey along.
Wouldn't Michael Abbadon also figure into this category since he was the one that influences Locke to go to the Island. Also he seems to display some magical properties in his disappearance from the mental hospital after visiting Hurley. --MethodicWays 16:36, 21 June 2008 (PDT)
