Ok - the list of existing characters that people are putting she could be is starting to get a little ridiculous. Could people who've put names down or (partially) agree with them add a little supporting argument?

If not, I think some of them should be deleted, especially Kate, which seems utterly ridiculous even if I try and think of a way it could be possible. Could someone please come up with some kind of explanation? - DrummerGirl, 11 May 2007

• Agreed. Except i reckon all of them should be deleted. The whole list should be removed from the theory page... They're not theories, they're just speculations without any kind of supporting evidence. If we keep that speculative identity list why not add the usual "she's the smoke monster", "she's christian sheppard", "she's jacob" and "she has 4 toes" generic theories that are added to pretty much every character on the show... Ok, i deleted the following theories:

• She is Penny. We have not learned what happened to her.
  • Not learning what happens to a character doesnt mean she has to be Penny.
• She is Charles Widmore's wife, and Penny's mother.
  • That would be a nice addition to the rivalty between Widmore and Ben in the show, but there's no explaination what so ever provided with this theory
• She is Charlotte Lewis.
  • No explaination either. Plus Charlotte is way too young to be Annie...
• She is Jacob's daughter.
  • No explaination provided
• She grows up off-island and is Mrs. Hawking.
  • Doesnt explain how she becomes so old all of a sudden.
• She's Ben's first love.
  • While this is very likely to be true, this doesnt explain who she is
• She is Horace Goodspeed's daughter.
  • That could be true but then there's no explaination for it
• She is Isabel.
  • No explaination
• She is Karl's mother.
  • No explaination
• Annie is the young woman assisting Edgar Halliwax in the Orchid orientation video.
  • No explaination
• She is Thomas' mother, and Aaron's grandmother.
  • No explaination

I would like to add the fact that Annie has brown hair and not blonde hair. So all these theories that she is Juliet or Sarah or Kate's mom is out of the question. The proof that most people use being that "she looks just like her is not referring to Annie but referring to Ben's mother.--Deuce Dubbington XVII 22:29, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

My Annie theory!! Edit

I think that Annie and Ben grew to love each other, up until soon before The Purge, around 1988. at some point, i believe Annie could have become pregnant with Bens child. She then left the Island, because she would die if she stayed, due to her pregnancy. She puts the child up for adoption. then at some point soon after she has the baby, she disappears. The baby turns out to be Karl, adopted by Henry Gale. He is on Henry's balloon, which brings him to the island. Even though Ben shows that he dislikes Karl, this keeps him from killing Karl. please note: -Karl and Annie have the same eye colour -Karl and Ben have the same hair colour, and nose -The Purge happened in 1992(1988). Karl is around 17. 1988+16=2004, the year of Karls death. -it is un-known how Karl came to be on the island

Validity of her=Annie theoryEdit

I think Harper was referring to Ben's mother. But it's not such a leap to think she COULD have been referring to Annie. The theory's author offered the evidence that Annie and Juliet were Ben's only love interests. It's not much evidence, but it's evidence that supports a theory. It doesn't seem fair to lump this in with the 98% of nonsense "theories" that we have to delete.

I think we should also leave the "Annie carried Ben's baby" theory. Again, no evidence that it happened, but the author offered the "support" of Ben's obsession with curing the pregnancy problem, his attachment to Alex from the start and Annie's unexplained disappearance. Meanwhile, the theories "without support" that we're deleting are stuff like "Annie is Libby" and "Annie is Jacob". Wow! Hahaha. That's even worse than "Vincent is Jacob". Anyway, I agree that "Annie carried Ben's baby and died" and "Harper was referring to Annie" are valid theories. Plenty of fans, including myself, have come up with those theories independently. --Celebok 20:13, September 27, 2010 (UTC)
