Special Guest Star (also known as a Special Appearance) is a credit used on television shows to denote a guest star of particular importance, such as a returning cast member or a celebrity. On Lost, the credit was used several times in the second and third seasons for returning main cast members. However, the credit was not used in "Meet Kevin Johnson" for the return of Cynthia Watros, and, following its final use in "The Lie", returning cast members were credited simply as guest stars.
