Anchored offshore of an unknown location, Desmond awakes in the cabin of Our Mutual Friend after having a dream memory of Faraday speaking to him at the side entrance of The Swan. He awakes and tells Penny that they will immediately sail to Oxford. ("Because You Left")
Bent on killing Penny, Benjamin Linus later found the boat at the UK marina, but, distracted by a pang of conscience on seeing the toddler Charlie Hume, he was attacked by Desmond and did not complete his mission. ("Dead Is Dead")

- The sailboat was named for the last novel that Desmond plans to read before he dies. ("Live Together, Die Alone")
- According to the boat's inscription, its home port is Gibraltar. Gibraltar is the site of one of the Pillars of Hercules, a mythological site at the edge of the known world. The continent of Atlantis lay just beyond its gates.
