Mrs. Arlen's son is a character first introduced in Jack's flashforward in "Through the Looking Glass".
Jack saves him and his mother after they have a car accident at a bridge. After the accident, he doesn't seem to have any life-threatening injuries. His left arm is injured, but that injury does not appear to be serious. ("Through the Looking Glass")
