Mrs. Arlen is a character first introduced in Jack's flashforward in "Through the Looking Glass".
Jack pulls Mrs. Arlen and her son from the burning wreckage of a car accident on a bridge. With a spinal injury, she is brought to St. Sebastian Hospital where she undergoes a successful surgery performed by Gary Nadler. When she woke up, she said that she was distracted by a man trying to kill himself, and that caused her accident. ("Through the Looking Glass")
