The "man on beach" (a.k.a. "Male Tailie") was a tail section survivor of Oceanic Flight 815.
On the Island
After crashing into the ocean, this man helped Ana Lucia pull a fellow passenger clinging onto a seat to shore. He frantically screamed out to see if anyone had seen his wife, Pam. It is not clear if his wife survived the crash of Oceanic Flight 815. ("The Other 48 Days") He has not been seen after the first day and may have died before Day 5.
