The "Main Title" is the ominous, discordant sound that accompanies the slightly out-of-focus title graphic when it glides towards the viewer during the Lost title sequence. In every episode, it appears after the opening scenes and before the first commercial break, except for "Pilot, Part 1", where it appears at the very beginning of the episode, before the very first scene of the series.

The "Main Title" was composed by J.J. Abrams. It appears on every released soundtrack, until Season 4.
