Off Angel?[]

I'm sure the phrase has more far reaching origins than that! --Nickb123 (Talk) 16:41, 25 August 2006 (PDT)

Apparently as far back as biblical translations lol says wikipedia[1] --Nickb123 (Talk) 16:42, 25 August 2006 (PDT)
Heh, was just about to post that. Now I feel stupid for sitting in the dark for about a year about what it stood for, when I could have just searched Wikipedia...
--Chris 16:44, 25 August 2006 (PDT)
Lol yeah but who needs logic! --Nickb123 (Talk) 16:47, 25 August 2006 (PDT)
I meant that in reference to TV show leaders, it came from Angel, not the phrase itself...--Jajasoon 16:52, 25 August 2006 (PDT)

Other terms to include?[]

So what else should go in the glossary? --Jajasoon 19:34, 25 August 2006 (PDT)

Moved from Talk:TPTB[]

TLE Header[]

Hmmm... not sure if we need that. TPTB has been used as an acronym since the show started, as far as I know. Maybe the Crew Template would be more suited?
--Chris 15:17, 25 August 2006 (PDT)

Well I thought cause its LE related it should be added to point it out, but in hindsight it is a bit inappropriate cause of the tag "this info has been revealed as part of..." Dunno about the crew thing though --Nickb123 (Talk) 15:20, 25 August 2006 (PDT)
I disagree with this page's existance. --Phmall 15:28, 25 August 2006 (PDT)
Why's that?
--Chris 15:29, 25 August 2006 (PDT)
It's an article of one sentance that can easily be added to some other page. There's simply not enough content. --Phmall 15:34, 25 August 2006 (PDT)
Go ahead, but keep this as a re-direct.
--Chris 15:37, 25 August 2006 (PDT)

I put it under the theories and commentary section of The Lost Experience. That's probably the best place for that. --Phmall 15:47, 25 August 2006 (PDT)

How about a LostPedia Glossary?[]

Instead of creating articles for quick definitions (like TPTB), or burying the definitions in longer articles, how about we create LostPedia:Glossary? Then each term can get its own section, and we can redirect to that definition. I imagine it could be good for codewords like Bagel and Challah, fan terms like Jate and Skate, and other general TV terms like arc and cliffhanger. What do people think? --Jajasoon 16:22, 25 August 2006 (PDT)

There is already a page for the production codes. --   Jabberwock    talk    contribs    email   - 16:31, 25 August 2006 (PDT)
I do think it needs to be pointed out, and that's probably one of the best ways to do so. TPTB is not an acronym directly related to TLE, it's more of a generic acronym for anyone running a particular part of Lost, be it the shows (in which case Lindelof, Cuse, and Abrams are usually the prime candidates), or the Experience (in which case it's probably still Lindelof and a few others).
--Chris 16:27, 25 August 2006 (PDT)
Totally agree Jajasoon, perfect solution. I know I didn't know about bagel and challah til I searched em here, and so fought to keep them from deletion. Redirects to a glossary would be really good, great idea --Nickb123 (Talk) 16:28, 25 August 2006 (PDT)
Yes, I say a glossary is a good idea too, if it can cut on the number of two-line articles that only give a short definition of a term (the equivalent of "Lostionary" entries). I also agree with Chris, the use of the acronym TPTB is not TLE-specific at all and it was certainly not an "information rervealed on The Lost Experience" as the template claims. I think we should remove the redirect to TLE, and when we get around to writing the glossary, we can redirect to it. Cheers 16:40, 25 August 2006 (PDT)

Proposal for Change to LST[]

LST is used here for "Lost Standard Time". Unfortunately, LST is already the abbreviation for Local Sidereal Time, which varies based on the observer's location.

I suggest changing the "offical" Lost time zone to "Lost Island Time", which would have an abbreviation (LIT) that is currently not in use (as far as I can tell) for time zones.

Further, since PDT (Los Angeles) is no more logical than any other location to base this time on, I suggest that the basis for the Lost time zone be changed to the Island's alleged location - which would be either GMT+11 or GMT+12. --Doc 08:14, 7 September 2006 (PDT)
