- Smith is known primarily for portraying himself in Omar McGee's documentary Flintown Kids (2005) about schools in the once named 'Poorest City In America:' Flint, Michigan, that are geared mainly toward developing basketball players. Flintown Kids is often seen as a followup to Michael Moore's documentary Roger and Me (1989). Smith, Moore, and McGee are all Flint natives.
