Jan appears during Locke's flashbacks in "Further Instructions". She is one of the leaders, along with her partner Mike, of a commune that Locke joins who grow marijuana in the woods. Although she seems very calm, when she discovers who Eddie really is, she shows an explosive temper.

Jan becomes angry with Locke when she realises Eddie is a cop ("Further Instructions")
