Main appearance

In 1977, Daniel Faraday warns a young Charlotte Lewis, to never come back to the Island or she would die, fulfilling Charlotte's dying words about Daniel visiting her when she was a girl.

Influences

The piece's first movement is Faraday's theme. It then plays its own motif, before ending on Eko's action motif.

Title significance

The title refers to the book or film For Love of the Game. The film featured Michael Emerson, Daniel Dae Kim and Tracy Middendorf and coincidentally included a mention of "Oceanic Airways."[1] In the episode's context, the phrase refers to Daniel's love for Charlotte being his motivation during "The Variable".
