Detective Calderwood interrogated Sawyer in a Sydney police station on the day of the flight. His mug had been broken by Sawyer three nights before when Sawyer had been arrested in a bar fight.

Trivia

• Nicknamed "Doctor" by Sawyer.
• Knew Sawyer's real name was "James Ford" and had a file on him.
• Advised Sawyer that he was being deported and that his flight was leaving that afternoon.
• The scene where Sawyer is being hauled into his office is an easter egg because in the background Boone is visible as he goes to the same station to file a missing persons' report on Shannon in Australia.
