Manuscript
Sawyer with the manuscript

The novel Bad Twin was written by Gary Troup, who was on the cursed plane Oceanic Flight 815. He was traveling with the manuscript for his novel, which he had given a copy to Christine DeVries, senior editor for Walkabout Publishing. He was on his way back home to get the final copy published in the United States. It has made appearances in only two episodes. The manuscript was discovered in Season 2, finally found and read by Hurley. ("The Long Con")

The manuscript was later acquired by unknown means by Sawyer. Sawyer claimed to Jack that he may have been the only person to have read it (not knowing that Hurley had read it earlier). Before Sawyer could finish reading it, Jack burned the ending and pointed a gun at him to emphasize his serious demand that Sawyer hand over the stolen guns. ("Two for the Road")
