The passenger sat next to Hurley, reading, during the flight. A seat separated the two, but airline regulations had forced overweight Hurley to buy tickets for both seats. ("Exodus, Part 3")

The passenger in the flash sideways ("LA X, Part 1")

Hurley's neighbor in the flash sideways was an Asian man who wore the clothes of his original neighbor. The two presumably represented the same character, though different actors portrayed them. The passenger exited the flight directly behind Sawyer. ("LA X, Part 1")
